yes ... i am connected via wifi ... i am close to the router

The first traceroute looked OK, I think for consistencies sake - are you able to connect via Ethernet and run a few?
Looking at your first post though, there may be exchange congestion here :(

I'm a little concerned with the latency spikes, and the first one seems to be on the first hop to your router. Are you sure there is a torrent or file download in the background. If not, check if you have something like an anti-virus or firewall that is inspecting packets and possibly causing intermittent latency.

Afri-people, how do I bundle my newly activated 100gb capped account to my 4mbps line?

This used to be possible on the Old CLientzone but now I dont see the option??

I still see the option, but not sure what client zone I have anymore

Thanks dude! Found it now by clicking on 'Telkom DSL line' and then clicking 'Bundle my line'.

Your DSL Line Has Been Bundled!
Your DSL Line has been successfully bundled with your
50GB Capped DSL Data package.
You will now enjoy a R20 saving each month!

Err... so my line has been on 8Mb (manual sync) on ADSL2+ since Telkom stuck their fingers into a power box somewhere, and it's been like that for a good three or four months now. Line stats were decent at 13.0dB.

Suddenly this weekend, my line starts syncing at 8992/{900~990 up} on G.DMT ... and I definitely didn't change anything. I cannot comment on stability, since there was a nasty bout of congestion this weekend, but my SNR is about 6.5-7 now.

Any ideas?

Help, our internet is bad this morning! This feels like extreme congestion?

Yeah, it points to congestion. It looks a lot better than the one I had this weekend.... was hitting high 3000s.

I have been holding back but am ready to comment now. I have a 10Mbps ADSL line and a 50+50GB capped account which I mainly use for streaming. For at least the past year it has been virtually impossible to get consistent service and usually just gave up. I have been with AH for many years but must say since the link up with MTN things just went downhill fast. I stuck it out (as frankly I am probably just too lazy to go through all the hassles of switching my accounts to another ISP) And suddenly a month ago things started working as they should. No buffering, even on HD. I am in seventh heaven. I have done a lot of bitching on this forum but feel that credit should be given where it is due - Thank you AH.

I see that you found this later on.

Just for the benefit of everyone else, your bundle options are always with your Telkom line product in ClientZone, becuase you bundle to the individual line.

Thanks so much for posting your experience. Some issues hard to hear, but it's how we grow and improve. I;m glad to hear that you experience has turned around for the better now, and we'll keep working on how to make sure our clients have a consistent experience throughout this year.

I wish we had fiber already...

I think it will still be a while before fibre has the penetration of DSL (which considering Mobile is actually looking to be very small, all things considered). Having Mobile and Fixed Broadband advancing at pretty much the same rate is very exciting though :)
