I hope you are well.
I see that you have tested your connection using the 1GB free test account linked to your profile. Please could you let me know whether the connection was better than the 8Mbps Business account you are currently using?
The reason for asking this is the following:
I believe the problem may lay with the Uncapped account you are using, in that the routing for the uncapped accounts, (Business or Standard) inherently induce higher latency than normal. Even worse so when the network is under load. I propose maybe moving you over to a capped package that meets your volume needs on a monthly basis, as well as resolves the high latency you are experiencing.
Current expenditure: R897.00p/m
Average data usage: 210GBp/m
Maximum data usage: 251GB in one month.
My suggestion:
150GB + 150GB Capped Package
R599 PM (Incl. VAT)
Zero shaping on these accounts.
My suggested package will cost you less monthly than what you are currently paying, plus it will meet your maximum data needs. Should we discontinue double data, this will become a 15GB p/m package, but you can then if needed retain double data by signing up for Afrihost+.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. I would also like to test thoroughly with the 1GB capped account to see whether our network routing on those accounts provide you with the latency results you are looking for. This testing should be done prior to making changes to the package you are on.
Please let me know when you are available to do this testing. I am only on shift from 15:00 to midnight every weekday, so it would have to fall within those times.
