Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Afri*, has your technical team looked at this hop in Cape Town? Still doing the same thing and definitely seems to affect throughput. This is only in the evenings, during the day it is 35 -50ms.

That doesn't look good at all! :(

What speed is your DSL line running at, at the moment?

Love it when my line is less than 1% of my actual throughput. And this is on youtube. (every video)

Could you ping bras.afrihost.com quickly please.

How is the throughput on your connection looking?

Bras is perfect, WoW is horrendous and twitch flat out doesn't work...

Love it when my line is less than 1% of my actual throughput. And this is on youtube. (every video)

That sounds terrible! Are you still experiencing slow throughput this morning?

Oh no, I hope you don't have any serious line issues again! :( Are you still offline this morning?

Yeh pretty much. Last night things were loading very slow. When i ran a few tests, i noticed my latency had hit over 5000ms, after that it just went down. Telkom dude on the phone said line is still connected, and it doesnt show any issues on his side. So he reckons there might be a fault at the exchange, so a technitian would have to be assigned.

Sigh, i thought those crappy days were over :D

Good morning. When did you change cancellation date to on or before the 23rd of month? I was under the impression you were able to cancel up until the 25th.....

So did I... :( I guess your weekend is going to have to be spent outside - gardening or something. :p

Holding thumbs you get it fixed soon! :D

Morning Gazbal. :) Our billing run starts on the first business day on, or before, the 25th of each month. This month the 25th falls on a Saturday, so we started billing on the 24th.

This December, our billing run will actually start on Friday the 22nd seeing as Monday the 25th is Christmas day,we have to count back over the weekend.

Seems your answer will be to move to another area! :D

So if I've now had a enough of getting shaped every night on my capped account, how easily and quickly can I forfeit my double data to get guaranteed unshaped speeds?

I changed mine 2 days ago to unshaped. The change went through immediately. Ask support to change it.

I think the change is immediate because your bill is not changing, only the package.

I can tell you this much, I'm loving the change. Performance has improved immensely.
