Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Does Afrihost throttle download speeds when using SABNzbd?
I've been getting a maximum of 25 kbps on a capped account whenever downloading through SAB.

My greatness I'm getting frustrated. Syncing at 12Mbps with 10Mbps Capped Unshaped Account, no line issues or exchange congestion, yet *all* downloads settling down at 50Kbps...

Why? I don't even know whats going on right now?

Anyone having issue with Hulu on Afrihost? DNS working fine, youtube 4K playback also works but Hulu loads up, shows list of series but won't playback the selected episode.

So now I can't even watch anything on Youtube... for the whole day.
I sent an email to your support team this afternoon but WTF? nothing going on? Are you guys taking the day off?

You're likely hitting the local server. It sucks. Raised this with AH mothership on Thursday - happened to call on a totally different issue unrelated to the issues I've been raising on this thread and the promises of attention - just saying! They'll raise with the NOC team. Try the following IP. Works for me. Might for you. Change news.afrihost.co.za to 81.171.92.222. I get full speeds on that. Nothing worthwhile on the local server.

Working in CPT - for a change.
Pushing 16/17mbps on this trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiAmnKUaNmc
Oh - I hate when I can reach the support team and have to wait in hope. Frustrating 'cause you never know whether they've got it, whether they'll respond. We should have an SLA for response time.

I'm in CPT.
Just checked my NNTP downloads today.
@15h00 - 1.9MB/s - almost line speed.
@19h30 - 500KB/s - poor but I'll take it.
Does indicate something is going on. Shaping, Throttling, Congestion, Something.

So if I've now had a enough of getting shaped every night on my capped account, how easily and quickly can I forfeit my double data to get guaranteed unshaped speeds?

If you change your package to an Unshaped Account that costs more, the upgrade will be immediate, if you upgrade to an Unshaped account that costs the same or less the package will be effective from the 1st of April.

There may have been some shaping, but that sounds a bit extreme. Do you have any other NZB servers that use? How do they compare?

That doesn't look like right... What sort of speeds were you getting on your speedtest?

That's strange... Which web browser are you using?
