Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

:( That's really far from what you should be getting. Have we logged a fault for your line recently?

Well, like i've said, Afrihost and Openserve have known about this for over two months. Cannot be solved :(

Unusually high local and Int pings constantly

Just lately I've seen a local and International ping increase up to 80ms over and above normal results. It isn't fluctuating ping, it's a consistent ping increase and I'm just jumping in here to see what the cause could be or if any others are experiencing the same issue as me?

My 20mbps line speed has also dropped to 1mbps from 19h00 the last four nights. I am on a capped bundle. According to support all is fine. Here are my speed tests.

What sort of speeds are you getting on your speedtests?

There is definitely an issue on the DSL line. I've logged a fault with Openserve. You should be getting a SMS with the reference number shortly.

We'll escalate this from our side as quickly as possible.

Hi there @Afrihost guys,

I just wanted to find out what was done to clear my situation?

After almost three painful months, I am now able to stream content from all sites as normal !!

See the difference while watching a video on nytimes.com vs my image I posted previously

https://ibb.co/cbsfZQ

My internet is performing phenomenally well right now. Very excited :-) please don't change anything!!! would love to know what the cause was. And if I am getting a discount for all the pain and suffering and expensive router that I had to buy ;);)

Huh... The Team and I hadn't made any changes yet... That's really really strange...

Did openserve make any changes? It would be beneficial to find out since every person that I spoke to said it was a "very strange" problem. It would make sense to investigate :) so that the next person that this happens to does not have to pull his/her hair out dealing with Afrihost and Openserve support for close to three months. It's quite evident that there was a problem if you analyse those real time stats.

Well, either way, I am happy so long as it stays this way. It was performing very very well last night :)

We'll definitely inform our Fibre Team of your experience, but I can assure you that the weren't any general issues on Openserve's Fibre Network or our own broadband network during your time affected. I think this was probably an isolated and localized fault that has since been resolved and I'm really happy to hear that your experience has since been really good! :D Feel free to report back on feedback whenever you can.
