So the last few days I've been absolutely struggling to watch youtube clips. I've got a normal Afrihost capped account and I'm running a 10Mbps line.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but Afrihost is just impossible to use. I've been thinking of going to their uncapped accounts, but considering just how slow their capped accounts are, I really cant even imagine how slow their uncapped account is going to be :/

Afrihost, whats going on? Why are you hurting your loyal subscribers so much?

I have two capped accounts on two different 4Mb lines & both are performing to expectations i.e. No problems

Maybe start checking Telkom line etc.

I also haven't had any problems...

Where about are you based? Perhaps pm Afriman and ask him if he would investigate. The only fault I can find is that the pings, whilst stable, are a little high in my area. 27-29ms to cpt servers (stable) whereas my SAIX, and WA capped accounts are sub 10ms to Cpt servers.

It seems like there may be a general speed problem, which we're looking into. Will you please PM me your username so I can make sure there is nothing else affecting your account.

Its definitely not the line.

It still might be Telkom, I had an issue the other day where my speed was slow, I did some research and found out there was evening maintenance being done by tlekom 8 kilometeres away from me yet my speeds were still effectivly halfed. My ISP confirmed this to be true. If there is maintenance near you you might have your traffic "managed" so to speak for a short while.

;) Use it dont use it.

If it were Telkom then all my ADSL accounts would be effected, not just one. This has been a consistent trend I've noticed over the last few weeks when using my Afrihost account.

Even Telkom is slow here in durbanville, I can see the damn MSAN exchange out of my office window, so it is definitely not a line problem, always download at 1120kBps and now i'm downloading at 150kBps.

Maybe Telkom is getting ready to switch over to the new speeds before August. Will never happen..... FML

Running capped Afrihost at the office and line (1mb) is running at full speed.

At the office the Telkom speed is crap, at home Afrihost is running full speed also. Maybe Telkom is having having problems?

Speed is getting better now. thank god, I have so much to download :D

Download Speed: 6134 kbps (766.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 707 kbps (88.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 240 ms

Sad does not begin to describe my disappointment, We have only had the account for 3 days!

Send Afrihost an email and tell them to fix the account or else ask your money back(double-your-money-back).

Post your Router(line) stats, maybe it is your line that is the culprit.
