I just want bonus data surprises. 10 years a customer of Afrihost not once have I received one of these mystery bonuses

Afrihost.........I'm on 10 meg Capped.................................THANX-good speeds and now and then slowing, used my 200 gig almost for this month, and yes, I appreciate what you guys are doing.

For the rest of the other moaning people out there, maybe you should try and BUY your games and software, and dont moan because you couldnt download 80gigs in 23 mins....!!

Thanx afri

Most complaints stem from live services like streaming and online gaming.
I moved because Netflix was a constant buffer session. Some people had speed issues from downloading.

But good for you and your assumptions

So what would your extremely helpful advice be for those who legitimately own licenses to games or software that take up approximately 15Gb a piece and rely on proper download speeds to obtain those bought games and software you refer to? Or when their businesses rely on virtual PC connections over a stable internet connection or require large data transfers, uploads or backups etc?

A professional, upfront bulletin months ago would have been better received than an email that sounds like it could be read on screen by an actor from days of our lives.

Take into account not everyone 'moaning' is a 'pirate' gamer whining about dl's and pings. There are actually multiple other legitimate uses for an internet connection beyond mere browsing and email receipt. As paying customers we should not have been kept in the dark about the actual cause of these connection issues and a long soppy letter to clients is not the most professional way to convey this issue, after the fact.

Amen and good night

It is quite amusing to note, this morning i was using my music streaming service on my treadmill and it was all kinds of buffering and stuttering on my Afrihost uncapped connection . I'm using Rdio , which is identical to Simfy, which Afrihost is bundling with their new product.

My only thought was (while switching to offline mode) , how on earth are they planning to sell a streaming service which requires a very consistent connection with things in its current state?

What's next? A Netflix subscription ?

I bet most users of Simfy will be downloading their songs in advance, and playing everything in offline mode (and not streaming at all).

People can complain all they want. Even if they are sockpuppets. No need to get personal. A psychopath and a normal person will have different views on what a vicious personal attack is, so why even bother getting personal?

As I said, this is why many companies no longer or wont engage with mybb anymore. Dont be surprised one day if it stops. You would have deserved it.
Did you just call someone a sockpuppet? ROFL

Yes and yes. Why do you ask?

MyBB is an ideal platform for companies to communicate with their consumers. Sadly none are actually using it. Although Afrihost is here, it hardly ever actually addresses the problems and in most cases MyBB is the ISP equivalent of HelloPeter.

Most companies just engage here to avoid public relations disasters, which could easily be avoided if they were honest and transparent upfront.

Afrihost had plenty of opportunity as their recent issues started to surface over two months ago and yet all the company representatives here decided to white wash the issue and shift blame elsewhere.

It was only last week that their CEO decided to sent out some cry baby email at 3am in the morning, something which could have been avoided if he had been honest from the get go. The Afrihost email was for me a last attempt to avoid massive customer churn as a few competitors will offer some very aggressively priced broadband products in the next few weeks.

Lets hope they learnt a lesson from this .....
