Afrihost Clientzone

I quite like the new one, just have to get used to it. As for the hosting features, no have not tried it. But I can test it with a free month of cloud hosting if you like :D

Hahahahahahahahahah!

Thank you for the feedback :) Will message you when we start doing hosting giveaways :)

Although the new design software is all 'hip hop' or whatever you like to call it, it is now a very difficult to find your way around.
Before to upgrade/downgrade/cancel/add another account or whatever was a piece of cake where now it is a frigging nightmare :(
Maybe I'm just getting too old for all this stuff ;)

Love the new layout as well, the mobile app need a few extra features though. Necuno just seems a bit bitter, might be a bit of a hipster :P

It's ok until you want to see a historical comparison of data usage. The old client zone did this right and the new client zone doesn't do it at all. Cool, hip and extra doesn't always translate into something practical. Just because it can be changed doesn't mean you should...

The whole reason CZ 2.0 appeared was to " appease " us, because of how over sold AH was at that time. So instead of having an ear on the ground they had an eye in the sky.

:edit

Lets revist the usage in the zones

Don't think I used the old Hosting version, but I like the current setup.
Lots and lots of info in the CP and options to change packages, domain renewals, DNS editor, password manager, etc are made easy.
There is a nice Site Builder as well, that I haven't used, but looks very noob friendly.
Sometimes I find access to the CP a bit slow, but in general I'm happy.

i have 2 sites on shared hosting and it is easy to move between sites.
But I'm not a website boffin, so not an expert or very informed opinion from my side.

i have searched the clientzone and found no way to get a list of monthly usage for the past several months. i would like to be able to see what my usage was last month, and the month before, and the month before that etc. for the past year or so. this would let me make decisions about whether i am on the correct package.

simple to do with mweb.

It's not available in the new ClientZone, and was available in the old ClientZone, but when you try to access it now, it just redirects you to the new ClientZone. I have found a way around it, but it only works if your line is bundled.

In the old ClientZone, go to the My Prodcuts -> My Bundles page. Then click on your ADSL username which is listed as part of the bundle. That will bring you to the old My Connectivity page, which you can then use to pull down whatever stats you need.

You could also just bookmark this page, for easier access later on:
https://clientzone.afrihost.com/connectivity#connectivity_account_XXXXXX

The XXXXXX seems to be a 6 digit code. I checked, and it doesn't correspond to any codes on my invoice. I thought there could be an easy way to get to the old My Connectivity page even if you didn't have a bundle, but alas, no luck here. Unless you can figure out what the account code is in this URL, or where to get it from.

Update: If you just browse to https://clientzone.afrihost.com/connectivity it should take you to the old My Connectivity page. No need to worry about account codes.

One thing I don't like is the big fat 'forgot password' button on the login page. Don't know how many times I clicked that instead of login :D

Same here, especially with the hosting side, where I would type in my password in the "New password" option.

I wish also that the shaping info could be carried over too the mobile apps.

Yeah that one... Perhaps someone is very forgetful :D

Clearly AH doesn't intent to improve the CZ.

/exit

I see there is now a "View detailed usage history" on the new clientzone.
Is that new or have I just been missing the popup ?

What would be nice is if the 'Home' button in the ClientZone points to the AfriHost main website ;)
