Is anyone else having problems with the Afrihost's cloud environment. I have two VM's that are down, no connectivity at all. Had connectivity issues last week as well. Seems to be very unstable.

Could be a networking issue:

Looks like the environment is down again. I like how the impact is "medium".

We have received reports of several VM Servers not responding as expected in our virtual environment at our Gallo Manor Data Centre. Our team have proactively isolated the problem and implemented a solution. We are bringing affected servers back online and normal services will resume shortly. We apologise to affected clients, who may experience slow or unresponsive services while the issue is being resolved.

Hmmm my one virtual server is still down but the other is up. How long will it take to get all of them up?

*edit*

Getting rather annoyed with Afrihost hosting. I can't believe how much downtime there is this last couple of months.

*edit*

11:45 and the VM is still not up. :(

I thought this was network related? How is it possible that one VM is up and the other down in the same network. Also someone I know has a dedi server with them and that is up... maybe its the VPS network thats down?

This time (this morning) it was the VM environment because both my VM's showed that it was shut down unexpectedly. You probably find that the data centre has a bunch of cowboys stuffing things up.

I also think that there are multiple VM machines, so x amount will run on one and another amount on the other. My one VM came up 3 hours before the other.

So then "Network related" story was just a BS fairy tale?... Not kewl... Its not like we cant find out the truth... After all we are all "scientists" here... :)

What the hell. Afrihost has changed their network status to fully operational but my vm is still down. In the clientzone it's showing as up for about an hour and a half now but it can't be pinged or accessed.

Sigh, time for a phone call.

Yeah so apparently their network status is a lie. They are still working on the problem. Very very frustrating.

The VM issues should be sorted, I'll follow up with our Engineers as to the servers that may be still affected.
Sorry about this guys :(

Whats the official story? I mean it was relayed as a network issue... We would just like to share in what actually went wrong...
