Hiya

I've been looking around for local VPS/cloud hosting, and I've noticed that Afrihost offer more for less, how are they able to do this?

Does anyone also have a review/experience with them?

Our cloud hosting is very stable, and we have a variety of options to choose from. We also have a control panel in your clientzone where you can power down or power up your server, and also do a quick health check on your hosting.

If you need more info, please drop me a PM. We are also running a December special with 25% off signup on any cloud hosting package.

if you ask really nicely im sure Afriman will hook you up with a demo server for a few weeks(considering the low load over this period)

can I ask a stupid question here? Do you need a landline for cloud hosting?

Not sure I understand the question.

You are not the one hosting. They host it somewhere (in the cloud). You obviously need some form of connection to access it. Be it landline, 3G, etc.

Technically yes, but that's the Data Center's problem, not yours.

You wouldn't want to host a website on your own machine using your own internet, because you have a bottleneck with the upload speed which a host doesn't.

As long as you can connect to the internet somehow (like browsing/posting to these forums) you'd be able to access your cloud hosting and upload/modify your web files while someone else can access them.

For example, mybroadband isn't hosted on rpm's land line. It's hosted at Hetzner
