Afrihost Fibre Feedback

Have you gotten an installation date for the Fiber yet from Openserve?

No, they're busy trenching everything, using the previous copper infrastructure (all the piping/conduits are there, also right next to one of the major DFA routes). They said two months till orders.

DO YOU BELIEVE YOU GET A ANSWER FROM THIS CLOWNS ?
 
My Afrihost fibre story (thus far)

Im a Afrihost ADSL client and live in Meadowridge, Cape Town. ADSL speeds have been pretty poor and my connection drops constantly (overloaded exchange Ive been told by Telkom and Afrihost) so Ive been eagerly watching recent Openserve fibre activity in our area.

Here is my current timeline: AH99B365095539

08 June: Openserve coverage map shows my street now has fibre
08 June: I sign up with Afrihost via R4000 promo link - receive a 'Welcome to the family' email: "Telkom will contact you to arrange the installation of the fibre line. Turnaround time is not yet defined..."
14 June: Dlink DIR 825 router is delivered
22 June: 2 weeks after sign-up - no further update

Im really hoping Im not going to be a 6 week installation story...

Fibre installation and activation times vary quite a bit at the moment. :( I'm hoping it won't take 6 weeks, but I can't promise you that it won't.

My time line with Mitsol and Afrihost
December 2016 open serve declared network ready entered contact with mweb
December 2016 till April 2017 mweb tried to get connection date from Mitsol with no success
April 03 19:34:39 contract entered with Afrihost
April 04 support to me YOU WILL BE CONNECTED WITHIN 6 WEEKS BY MITSOL
when I read MITSOL big shock
I contact SUPPORT to explain MITSOL CLOWNS
Answer
April 05 MITSOL CLOWNS will clear logistic backlogs and contact you to connect

April 06 SUPPORT to me
Biased on massive demand some area are not serviced by Mitsol CLOWNS with connection
Start date contact with Afrihost confirmed

11 April tax invoice for router
14 April SUPPORT .. can not confirm connection date but WITHIN 6 weeks
14 April till 27 April several email about payment as I do not want to pay for router if not connected
Afrihost deducted my banking account any way
No answer for connection date

27 April SUPPORT MITSOL CLOWNS have monopoly nothing we can do
05 May SUPPORT to me
No breach of contract as you are still not connected and contact by Mitsol CLOWNS

Unlucky wise your SUPPORT guy was not reading it himself
When I emailed him the part as copy of the themes which says that DELIVERY DATES are BINDING the conversation about ended from your side

08 May SUPPORT to me
DELIVERY of router by 3 party INDICATES that MITSOL CLOWNS will connect soon but NO DATE PROVIDED AGAIN

Siyabonga K Confirmed that he / she has send now a request to Mitsol CLOWNS for clarification

Then I approached you over forum
As the connection problem is dragging on since December 2016 I would really like to be informed IF AND WHEN I GET CONNECT
I would like to known if I can work from home any time soon or if I rather close down my activity

Would love to have this fast tracked as Vuma/Fibrehoods and Britelink all have no clue why they cannot see my application/order.

PS - the fibre is live and complex distribution 100% complete where I live - the CTP box on my wall is simply waiting for the drop team to plug in the drop cable and connect the CPE inside, that's it.
