I know this seems like a strange question, but given that so many people are talking about leaving Afrihost after all their mathematical symbol launching schenanegans, I stumbled across something in a comment last night that intrigued me.
MTN owns Afrihost (we knew that) and Afrihost owns AXXESS?
At first I thought it was just that Afrihost ran the Axxess website:
http://skip.w3bin.com/domain/axxess.co.za
But it's much more than that... the only clear evidence I can find is in MTN's press releases:
https://www.mtn.com/Search/results.aspx?k=axxess

It says quite clearly there in a document about the Afrihost acquisition "Afrihost and its subsidiary, Axxess DSL Proprietary Limited (“Axxess”), ..."
I know they may not be the same service / product etc; but I am sensing that people 'jumping ship' from Afrihost may not realise that they are jumping right back into the same company if they jump to Axxess.
Who else is actually all part of the same company?
Who owns Cybersmart, or MWeb even? For all I know they are actually all MTN & Vodacom businesses now, all just holding back ADSL services so that skype calls never work probably so that we stick to mobile phones with voice-packages
Any other linkages we should know about?
