Afrihost launches Cell C fixed-LTE packages

Cancellation policy is harsh on SIM-only deals:

Cancellation Policy
Should you cancel your Fixed Wireless package in less than 6 months from signup date, or your account falls into arrears, you will automatically be charged a cancellation fee of R999.

Have you checked your coverage?

This!

Cell C LTE is available in limited areas and certainly not outside major centers

How reliable is Cell C within its coverage area? I currently have a Rain package with Afrihost but I see I can get double the data for the same price pretty much.

EDIT: also speeds. I currently average 15mbps in my area but I suspect it'll be slower when I move into the city.

Because we offer a blanket promotion, some packages are more expensive. It also helps cover the built in logistical costs like delivery (including express delivery) etc.

No, I do have a cell c sim I my phone, and I have LTE at home.

Regular Cell C coverage might not be an indicator - as Fixed Wireless is LTE/LTE-A only and I don't believe it uses their roaming on other networks.

Whats the process to switch from Rain to Cellc? Must it be, cancel Rain, wait till cancelled. Sign up to Cellc sim only, wait for new sim?
No switch/port over function?

At the moment we don't have one, so it's probably best to wait until the minimum period has expired and then go for the SIM only deal (which still gives you a free month).

We're looking at offering that at a later stage (AFAIK).

AfriMan, I currently have Rain mobile LTE sim, which I use in a Huawei E5885 mobile router. I see you have the same router on your website. Will I be able to use the Cell C sim in that router. I need to cover Rain peak hours between 6 and 11 with a Cell C package

If at home, just take the free B315 ...
