Ok. If I cancel the mifi sim now and get a new account when it's launched, will I be charged R145 x 2 or just R145 for one account?

If you cancel today you won't be billed for October, you will be billed for the new package but under pro-rata.

Will I get refunded for September or does the sim only stop working at the end of September?

Is it a month notice or can I cancel at anytime before the end of the month? Its the provisioning of the Afrihopst/MTN contract sim only available from the 6th?
Sorry for all the questions.

Ok I just signed up for the APN and canceled my mobile 2.
Now I have to wait 72 hrs for it to be activated.

MTN signal here seriously disappointing. Stuck on 2G, and under 0.2 Mbps download.
Popped in my Cell C sim and I'm hitting 4Mbps +.

Will check outside and window positioning to see if I can get it better.

Otherwise doesn't make sense to continue with it unfortunately.

You'll need to sign up for another package, you won't be able to use the APN from your MiFi SIM. The package needs to be provisioned with your mobile number in order to use our APN.

What the hell.... Not even 1 page back, you confirmed (for the second time) that we WILL INDEED be able to move our existing data from our Mifi SIMs to an MTN Contract SIM (albeit tomorrow, the 6th). Now you're telling this guy that he cannot?

I don't know why it is so hard to get a straight answer on this question! Seems like no one really knows the answer.

So for the last time (hopefully), will we be able to move our existing Mifi data from our Afrihost SIMs onto our MTN Contract SIMs?

Sorry if I didn't word it correctly, by the looks of things this is about as close as it gets? http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...ack-Thread?p=11092645&viewfull=1#post11092645

In order to use our APN you need to have another package to do so, which provisions your number on our system for use.

Very happy so far , at home and work i get around 9.8mps on speedtest .

i tested some gaming last night on bf3 on local servers my ping was around 38ms , did jump to 60ms now and then , but that is expected on 3g.

gaming on mobile is never ideal, because there will be latency spikes, but based on that I would say it's extremely do-able.

Great speeds :)

Damn, that is very disappointing. I definitely preferred it when you said :

I'm very satisfied with my 5GB of Afrihost data. I don't want MORE, I just want to be able to use it on my phone instead of carrying the Mifi around with me everywhere I go.

I have to say, I debated for hours the merits of breaking up my standard SIM and just using the micro-SIM in my iPad. But then when I need the WiFi I can't tether or use my phone. So ended up just sticking it in the MiFi.

It's actually really convenient to carry around with you, and pretty durable, seeing as I carry a LOT of crap around. I just pull it out, and then my phone, iPad and PC can all connect wherever I am. It's a much better solution for me.

Our APN activated product for MTN contracts SIMS is available. And remember that you don't have to buy another 10GB. If you've already got your MiFi, how much do you really need just for your phone? 250MB costs just R29pm, so it's not that bad to had a second data product just for your phone. Otherwise, cancel your 10GB data at month end, and then upgrade the R29 product, that way you can make sure your get your SIM in time :)

I get good speeds with a blue screen, oops, signal strength :p
Not have any idea what the blue indicates tho.

Matter of fact I have connected the laptop directly via the USB cable and then connected the cellphone via WiFi and it shows blue on the laptop and green on the cellphone, both 5 bars.
