Afrihost Mobile Feedback Thread

Got my afrihost 3G lte sim , payment took some time to vlear however they were in there sla and I wasnt in a hurry.

The sim was LTE enabled quickly. Once is saw my number on the client zone I called through and had the guys enable it.

Speed in midrand is not super , I get 7 Mbs download and 3 Mbs upload. In the jhb cbd at wrk its about 25 and 15 respectively.

I'm a happy customer :-)

Checked speedtest and this was i get lol

Ah well you know what they say about 1st impressions

Weird part is with mtn or 8ta i play battlefield flawlessly

I have the exact same problem, just with Diablo, my normal MtN is better than Afrihost, but I can't use the mtn as often because of much less data. A month ago my Afrihost was perfect, now not so much
 
My Afrihost Mobile has also struggled this last while. I'll have three bars signal but get high pings and very slow speeds until I restart. Then it's sometimes a bit better for a while. It's only on Afrihost though and it didn't use to do this.
 
Websites don't load/ timeout or never fin loading or slow

This is exactly the issue I am experiencing at the moment...

Your Afrihost and MTN Mobile Data products should definitely be giving you similar speeds. Can you send me a PM with your Mobile Data package username, I definitely want to look into this from my side.

Have you been able to test the sim card from different areas? Are you consistently getting these types of speeds?

Can you please send me a PM with your Mobile Data username so that I can look into this.

I would like just to get a answer etc from somebody .... even mtn .. I spoke to afriguy also I know you guys are busy and swap things around. But mtn is not getting back to me .

Trying to sign up for a new mobile 500mb afrihost sim card. According to your website delivery is free, but when I go through the checkout process, delivery is R50. It's a bit confusing.
Also, does the vodafone K4201-z use a standard sim or micro sim. A bit out of touch with the sizes.

Well I didn't have to reset the wifi at all last night - will keep an eye on it over the course of this week.

Generally dongles tend to use a standard SIM, but it really depends on the device. I searched Google but couldn't find a specific reference to the SIM size for the device. This doc seems to indicate (size wise) that it's probably standard:

With regard to delivery, I believe that all RICA deliveries over a certain amount qualify for free delivery. That should be stated on the website, will check on that :(

We'll definitely try and get some feedback for you. If MTN have received your coverage form then they should be able to give us some information :(
