I assume you've already had a coverage query logged with MTN on this?

yea ... I also called them few times just to get told a) if you have signal we can't help you b) there is nothing wrong with the tower in your area

But you've mentioned that data throughput is the issue?
PM me the ref# and I'll see what I can do.

I don't have a relationship with MTN, I do with you.

You do have access to my call records, you publish them in the Clientzone, where do you think I got this info in the first place?

You haven't answered the query, a legitimate one, at all. You take my money, you account for how much you bill me, simple

Their strategy is to answer your questions with a question and then take it pm where they f@(& you up with more questions.

Good news 3g is back up and running .. bad news is that I had to use unofficial channels to get it sorted

I have the capped message in my browser even though I still have 600mbs left, anyone else have this issue?

soo 200 ping in dota again :P do I blame IS or mtn whos hop is that?

Hi Afriguy,

I have searched but cannot find a conclusive answer on the forums. I am looking at getting Afrihost mobile as an ADSL replacement (due to line quality issues that Telkom cannot fix) but need to access my CCTV DVR from outside my network. As I understand it, the router needs to support a Dynamic DNS service such as noip.com or dyndns.org but the APN also needs to be unrestricted to allow incoming connections. According to the support pages on the Foscam.co.za website your Afrihost APN does allow for this (although all other MTN APNs do not).

However, I would like conclusive confirmation before going ahead with the switch. Could you therefore please confirm whether your APN is unrestricted your router (I understand it is now the Huawei B315) supports a Dynamic DNS service?

Thanks!

afri this is the local dota server still giving me 200+ ping?

I am the only one complaining it seems to be only afrimobile :(

I'm getting No Service on my phone but a co-worker who is also with Afrihost is getting full service. I restarted and everything. Unfortunately the Afrihost website seems to be down so I can't contact support.

How old is your sim and did you buy it yourself or did Afrihost deliver it to you?

Afrihost delivered it to me.

My active network is showing as: "No network found". If I click on sim settings and select Network Selection it is currently on Automatic where it doesn't find anything to connect to. If I say Search for Network it finds all kind of networks and when I select MTN it doesn't actually connect to it.
