Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Being billed despite Cancelled service on 17 July 2017

I cancelled this Afrihost Mobile on 17 July, and today received an invoice.

I wrote to support, but they never respond... and I am not wasting money on them, calling or whatever.

Clearly states on their site that the service is cancelled, so why charge me? Why if you ignore your customer of 19 months, and then expect to get paid for a cancelled service?

If this doesn't get resolved now, and I get billed, I will be taking this up with the relevant industry associations.

Hi all.
Today I need some advice on dealing with Afrihost as I am getting very agitated.

My wife uses AH for her cell data and up to last month she has been quite happy. Then we got the invoice for July and it was basically one big error. (and yes, I do know how to read and understand an invoice :) )

She emailed the accounts dept and a day later received a one line reply that made no sense at all. She then tried to call the help line, but could not stay on the line for the hours that it would seem to take to speak to a human.

I then looked at this thread and sent a PM to Afriguy, Afrigenie and later Afriman. This was last week and I am still to receive one reply.

Basically AH is giving me the middle finger and tonight at 12am they are going to use their faulty invoice to basically "steal" my money.

As long as you cancelled before the 23rd of the month your cancellation will be effective from the end of the current month.

Your account be credited automatically for the package so that you won't actually be billed for the package for August.

I also replied to your other Post, I've received your PM and I'm following-up on this for you.

who have i been talking to on Twitter... still struggling to connect to the Afrihost APN guys :(

This seems to be how they make the rest of us think that a person was helped; with replies like the "No problem" above, but in reality you dont hear from them again.....

I'm here to help. :) I received your PM and replied.

Finally!

After a week of struggling and five different people at AH I just got an email of again just one line....

The email did not admit fault or even a sorry, just that the deduction from my account has been credited.

Thanks AfriFella; next time Im contacting only you... just hoping you are only one person :erm:

Glad I could help. :) Please feel free to request more detail in the ticket.

question, would a rooted device be the issue re me not be able to connect to the Afrihost APN? Would be strange, as its perfectly fine on MTN

If the device works with the MTN APN it should work with the Afrihost APN. Unless it's been locked to the MTN APN.
