On iOS you have to swich the hotspot APN as well.
Africa mobile is absurd. They refuse to accept my proof of address of my town house levy with my address on it
I also have fibre going onto my home and My ISP is Afrihost who I pay the line rental too. However Afrihost refuses to put my home address on the monthly invoice so I cannot use that to Rica my mobile number.
Maybe should be cheeky and ask a refund for my fibre saying they cannot prove I live there?
Just use a retail account. Woolworths, Totalsports, Truworths, Incredible etc. are easy to open, free and all work fine for proof of address.
To put your address on your Afrihost invoice, log into Clientzone and go to the My Account menu. Below your contact details, it will show the address option. Fill it in and download your invoice in the billing menu - it will then have your address on it.Africa mobile is absurd. Another 11 days and they still haven't been able to ship a sim. Keep getting told by call center that they are escalating and distribution center will contact me before the end of the day. Still nothing. Even contacted the reps and still nothing. Again run and stay away from the worst service provider. Seriously wanted to move my fibre to have everything with one supplier but after this service it isn't going to happen.I am giving up. I ported my number to afrihost from telkom. Then the whole eSim issue happened and I asked them to deliver me a physical sim but now it looks like my number that I have had for 30 years is in limbo because the physical sim they delivered has a new number. Very bad customer service because you get passed between service center agents and every time you need to explain everything and instead of them just fixing it they tell you to go into the app and do it yourself.
Who can help me ?
Really not going to have a happy person if I lose my number.
Damn I got my sim from joburg to cpt in 2 days Dunno what's going on thereAnother 11 days and they still haven't been able to ship a sim. Another support call. Another promise that I will be contacted in 48 hours and no contact. Maybe the support agents and distribution is also waiting for their Sim to be issued and shipped.Another 11 days and they still haven't been able to ship a sim. How long does it take for the data element on the eSIM to activate? I’ve added the sim, set it as primary, change the apn to the ws one. It has full signal but doesn’t connect to the data network (no data symbol appears). I only got the eSIM about an hour ago.
@AfriNatic @Afrigirl @AfriGuy any news on this? Is it something that is going to happen / being discussed / going to take a year / two / three / never?@AfriGuy Any potential news on VoLTE and VoWiFi yet?

Hello. So it's day 25 being without a phone number/sim after porting to airmobile and all I get sorry there's a backlog. I would think people that has been waiting for 25 days to get a working sim get's helped first. So my warning is stay away.
Hi.@Afrigirl if I take a look @ https://www.gov.za/sites/default/files/gcis_document/201810/41949gon1021.pdf the reasons for port rejection (5) says "the number has already been ported within one (1) calendar month;" -- so its only one calendar month before we can port out again?
