Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Just open a free retail account (or visit a retailer you already have an account with) and update your address. I think only Truworths asked for proof of address. They'll send your first account statement before the month is out, and you can use that almost anywhere.
I have a letter from my ward counsellor that already works almost anywhere.

Like I said - if this esim is going to work on my Apple watch it might be worth the effort but as it stands there is zero savings to be had switching from MTN.

It would also be child's play to update an old Telkom bill to reflect a more current date.

When you add a payment method it authorizes R1. Is that supposed to be refunded, reversed or eventually drop off? From my end it looks like it was "completed". I dont care about R1 but i used my work card to pay and i'm required to upload an invoice/receipt for every transaction and there is none for this.

It was interesting in Mexico, one can just walk in to any telco and buy any sim, no id, nothing required. All they want is your money.

The R1 is basically to check and verify if the account details inputted on your clienzone do work and the account is active.

@AfriGuy Do the guys have feedback yet on the issues?

Hi

The Air Mobile team are working with MTN on the eSIM issue. Certain devices and it seems random just do not want to activate on eSIM even if it's supported. We are working with MTN to figure this issue out.

Ah ok, thanks!!
Appreciate it.

The app has stated ....
"Out for delivery", "Your SIM is on its way" etc. ..... since night before last.

Should I expect a call, email and / or app notification of day & approximate time of delivery (so I can plan ahead to be available) ?

Also, which courier is used in PE ?
Is it still CCD Couriers, or if them no longer, please advise who ?

Thanks @AfriGuy , @AfriNatic

@AfriGuy

I wanted to know more about the proposed delivery schedule, because I've received a call my call blocker's blocked.

It's not one of these numbers (link below) , assuming Courier IT will be delivering, instead of CCD, which I've not been able to ascertain, as you didn't answer anything in your original post.

Re CCD, I have 3 of their numbers white-listed from prior deliveries, so they'd get through most likely.

I'll be out for a few hours this afternoon, whether anyone intends delivering this soon without notification, or not.

We will need to reschedule the delivery again for you. It would be Dawnwing/Courier IT the courier to send you your delivery.

I am giving up. I ported my number to afrihost from telkom. Then the whole eSim issue happened and I asked them to deliver me a physical sim but now it looks like my number that I have had for 30 years is in limbo because the physical sim they delivered has a new number. Very bad customer service because you get passed between service center agents and every time you need to explain everything and instead of them just fixing it they tell you to go into the app and do it yourself.

Who can help me ?

Really not going to have a happy person if I lose my number.

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl I've just purchased a new iPhone 15 but having difficulty transferring my AirMobile eSIM from my old iPhone 13 to my new iPhone 15.

I have tried scanning the QR code on the new iPhone while the eSIM is active in the old one. This failed. Then I tried turning off the eSIM in the old iPhone and trying the process again, which also failed.

I'm scared to delete the eSIM entirely because what if I can't add it back? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Afrihost MVNO (through MTN) setup & working, but not that great.

This speedtest is during loadshedding (which I forgot about at first), so hopefully will improve but I think Telkom does better overall where I'm situated.

Still usable, though, but Telkom will remain primary provider unless we get fibre, which I'm seriously considering soon.
