Dammit Afrihost Support is useless.


Opened a ticket on 29 FEB asked if X can be done.

They only replied TODAY and they didn't even bothered to READ the TICKET....

A generic copy and paste reply.

Update 1: I requested a "Call Me Back" that can only be accessed from the main website and not the client zone (browser).

Anyways, got a call back within minutes and they busy assisting with the ticket. Well done.

Will see how long it takes to solve the actual issue as it involved another email sent to support@afrihost.


The moral of the story is that the Support Ticket system is useless and takes days before it is even looked at, never mind that it is useless as support staff don't bother to read anyways. So only use Call Back or Whatsapp if you have the patience to wait and wait.


Update 2: The email has been responded with a another support staff who didn't bother to read the email.

Sad to say, we are now at 7 March and my 'issue' has still not been resolved. Forum support is non existent and the email support is literally going around in circles.

I have given up.
 
There is an outage on the APN being attended to by MTN.

Has there been a similar Afrihost mobile / Air Mobile outage the last 2 days (Western Cape) ?

intermittently unable to browse / whatsapp on “afrihost” APN, but works inmediately when I change the APN to “mymtn”

I'm not aware of any or at least in Gauteng. I use a MTN prepaid sim in a mifi with Afrihost APN and did not notice anything unusual.

Last two days there's loads of intl. sites that are giving timeouts & not streaming.
Browsing sucks right now.

We're so sorry that you have responded late. It isn't much like us to not respond as fast as possible.
Do you have the ticket reference for the case?

just how many simultaneous connections do you have at home :-) Rain, AH Mobile, AH Fibre..

I'm sorry we've not been of great assistance lately. We are working on improving that. How may I be of assistance at this very moment?

I no longer see 4G+ on the Huawei B618, when running a speedtest.

Before I would see 4G+ show up on the routers GUI and speedtest would go over 60mbps.

Now only normal 4G and speeds are only reaching 30mbps.

Possibly MTN disabled Carrier Aggregation, and are using spectrum split for fixed LTE only and normal LTE.
Just my 2 cents.

Hi Hummercellc, I cannot say for sure if this is what they did but we can troubleshoot to figure out why this is happening. Is this consistent or the speeds drop at certain times?

Any chance AH is going to give away free data for the lockdown period, it would help a lot.
Hi Rickster, as much as we would love to, no we will not. We understand that the importance of having data during this time. Since Afrihost has been classified as an Essential Service Provider during the lockdown, we are still operating at full capacity to continue providing our vital service to our clients to enable them to keep their businesses running and stay in contact with family, friends and news of outside events as they stay in physical isolation.

At the same time we still need to pay all our Suppliers for services rendered to our clients, and all other costs involved in keeping the business running. This is a tough time for all of us but we'll get through it.
 
Good day, i wanted to know if my wireless is connecting to Capetown servers but i am located in pretoria. Is there a way to get me connected to joburg servers? I have notced every now and then it gets connected to joburg and my ping is atleast 50 ms better internationally and localy.

Hey There. When you say that you're connecting to Cape Town servers are you referring to the tower your sim is trying to reach when running a speed test?
