Afrihost Mobile Feedback

I assume the eSim will not be complete with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 LTE?
Hi.

@Orbiter had it working.

On watch go to Settings, Connections.
Select Mobile Networks
Choose Always On (if on auto you will not get access to the settings below)
Go to Access Point Name and Add New
Name = anything, eg airmobile
APN = ws.air.mvno

Select the APN created, eg airmobile
Can change back to Auto

indeed, the price was a bonus but i do rate AH service highly which is why I will happily keep my 2 fibre lines with them and my legacy airmobile numbers. I made the mistake of jumping ship before realising the lack of VoWifi and VoLTE (out of their hands, but they did not state this would be lost when going to the new Airmobile) (Noted @Afrigirl)

I did not have any issues with porting luckily, but it seems like a few people have had, it is surprising you are not getting the usual AH prompt resolution.
Yeah man, I have AM data, noticed a considerable difference in service compared to Telkom where Telkom is better (as much as I hate saying that).
And no resolutions prompts.

@Afrigirl @AfriGuy I've been having a nightmare with my eSim since switching from my Galaxy S21 to Galaxy S24. The eSim was deleted on the old device and added on the new S24, but it will not register at all. It keeps sending Class 0 carrier messages and SMS's stating that the service is being activated, but that's been going on for two days now. No mobile calls are possible and mobile data does not work. It appears to be some sort of provisioning issue. The case # is FMF-225-77187 and the internal escalation is MMH-693-39124.
Hello.

I am following up with the team on the escalation logged.

@Afrigirl I've been having major issues with AirMobile the last week or two. I've got full signal, but 5G would just flash for a second and go away. No internet

Same applies when I set the connection LTE only. All I get is a flashing LTE, and no internet.

iPhone 13 with eSim.

Any ideas on why or what's going on?

Has anyone been able to use an AirMobile eSim with the standard Galaxy S24? I've been advised by Afrihost that the S24 is not compatible, which sounds like complete horseshit.
Also struggling. It has been over a month and they just don't get back to me at all. Says number is active but it doesn't work at all.

Have about 5 escalations with promises of getting back to me and nothing. Every time I contact them there is an excuse that some details weren't sent in the previous escalation.

Afrihost has been on the ball in the past with issues that I have had, this has just been a complete nightmare though.

Hi.

Was it for a new physical SIM or porting to eSIM?

Finally, service has been restored.

Final note, not a single Afrihost support person got back to me with feedback, and after being promised on 3 occasions that a manager would call, this never happened as well. Imo, there is nothing worse than lying to a customer.
Trying to log a legitimate complaint to Afrihost also seems non-existent.

As a human with a special needs kid, this was a horrible experience

Thanks @Afrigirl and the other off forum person for the assistance, there are folks out there that are trying to help, few and far between ✌

I have an S20+ and couldn't get eSIM to work. Had to order a physical SIM.

I got a physical sim for my wife, which is what you may have seen.

The physical sim works, the esim does not.

Hi @AfriGuy

I checked the eSim this morning (it is in my Samsung S24), neither voice nor data works. I still get the "your new airmobile number xxx is in the process of being activated".
I've gone through all the restarts and reconfigurations and everything countless times.

The physical sim on my wife's phone is perfectly fine.

Yeah, I think there is a lack of something on their side. There's a lot of NEW devices that the eSim does not work on, for no reason at all.

Got to say, the support from Afrihost on this new AirMobile side is shockingly bad.

I've had issues, and got a reply on the ticket I logged. I replied but never got a reply back. Feels like I was just left on read and ghosted. With the issue still showing up from time to time.

Please update the list if we have to trust the information given in the website. Esim does not work on Huawei P40 pro but the device is still listed as approved.
