Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Applied for another eSIM for my primary device just after midnight and was up and running within 15mins. Nice one Afrihost!

@AfriGuy Happy New Year...
Can you please have a look at the following threads:

Major fibre outage and only 1 network notice, no others comms done by Afrihost ... !!!

How about giving your customers affected by the Openserve outage mobile data so that we can continue working?

Haha it was worth a shot. Telkom actually did this with their recent outage.

My phone and wallet were stolen on Monday afternoon. So far Afrihost support has been the most frustrating to deal with. Requiring an selfie with my ID. But ID was in wallet.... So they said they could only help me once I had a temp ID.

Ok, it is really frustrating, but I do understand the security side of this. So I managed to get a temp ID on Tuesday and did all the selfies and what not.

Then yesterday morning I received a response to where I want the sim delivered to, which I already did when I logged the ticket.... Which I did respond to. Then eventually I got a response at 11am yesterday:

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
May you please note that an escalation was sent through to our airmobile team.
We will get back to you as soon as we receive feedback.
We're grateful for your support and the opportunity to serve you as a valued client.
Thank you for choosing Afrihost.

Have a lovely day.

Kind Regards

I have asked for a status, but I get no response on the ticket, and its been 24 hours since it was "escalated". Asking for help/status and WhatsApp is basically this, we cant help you, wait for feedback on the ticket....

Everything that got lost has been replaced, temporaries ID and drivers issued, or bank card replacements are on their way. Except for Afrihost, which is somewhere in the queue, and I must sit and wait in the corner.

If this wasn't my main number linked to WhatsApp and everything else, it wouldn't be such a train smash.

@AfriGuy / @Afrigirl I'm losing all hope and trust in Afrihost at this point in a time of need.

To the Afrihost reps,

Are there any plans to propose a different tier of your uncapped mobile data plan (i.e. cheaper monthly payment) where speeds are throttled earlier than 100gig, lets say 50gig. This is a good product however, it does not make absolute sense for everyone. I spend most of my time at home on wifi and I know that I can simply solve the issue with buying mobile data but I want to cut out that hassle and the fact that it would expire.

I would happily pay say R250 or R300 a month for uncapped mobile data that is throttled earlier.

The current R497 for the uncapped product is affordable but I might not get value for money out of it and will end up paying for something that I do not use all the time.

Hi.

May I please have the ticket reference so I can check on what has been done.

Afrigirl AfriGuy , I'm lately experiencing serious battery drain dispite my iPhone being on standby

Switched the APN back to MTN and the battery drain stopped

Sounds like you probably have a public IP instead of a CGNAT ip, @Afrigirl should be able to fix that easily. :)

What could the problem be @Afrigirl?

I have a weird issue, I moved to a new iPhone and Apple couldn't move the Airmobile eSims over when I restored the new phone from a backup, nor transfer them from the old phone like you normally can by holding the phones together and I can't activate the eSims by scanning the QR code.

I get this error:

Did you try the process on the Afrihost help site?

I'm not receiving any SMS's on my AirMobile SIM.

Really annoying as I'm trying to get OTP from my bank.

I've tried a sending test SMS from my Telkom SIM and it also doesn't go through, so definitely a problem with Afrihost/MTN.
Hi.

Still experiencing an issue with receiving SMSes?
