The status site never shows area outages for my area . My fibre is once again down , vumatel , I check with my parents my friends and they are all down too , so once again as usual a large area down . However these outages that last four hours on end never show up on the status portal . Getting a support agent to log a fault is also always a headache , they want pictures and resets every time but cannot understand the concept that me and every other person I’ve asked in a 5km radius have no vumatel internet.

Hello.

Please confirm your area and I will check if we have official communication from the FNO regarding the outage.

Pietermaritzburg, Hayfields / Lincoln Meade

Thank you.
The outage is listed on the Network status page since the 21st of Nov.
"PietermaritzburgMedium Impact • Vumatel Outage | Pietermaritzburg"

DFA update: techs have located the cable break and have found that a TLB has damaged the DFA infrastructure at Lynnfield on the N3 construction site,

It was down on the 21st too, but has been up since then.

The support agent says my line is responding on his side , he’s got that magical air connection

I am a long time Afrihost subscriber, and very happy.
BUT - this is where VOX is much better than AH.
They send out sms's for area outages and where you would be affected.
I have friends in the same area also on Vuma like me, but with VOX, and have to ask them every bloody time if they are off too - if it is a VUMA issue.

Surely Afrihost can look into this to make their service even better?

PS: I also had a case where the line was down. No lights on the fibre port on the ONT and the AH support said they could reach the device without issue. SMH.
