Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

OK joined Afrihost on Friday, sent ID etc, within a few minutes my ADSL account was activated which is great. I am going for the combined option to let Afrihost also manage my line, this part has yet to be done, i am just a little unclear about something, i got a mail saying that if i have a voice line they will do the rest, if i have ADSL with Telkom i must fill in a form and get the line put in the free pool.

My situation is i had ADSL with Telkom, but this has been cancelled a few years ago, so just had the voice part, no voice contracts or anything, just a normal old voice line. Now do i need to fill in that form and send it to Telkom or because that ADSL part has already been canceled about 3 years ago does it count as just a voice line? Just basically want to see if someone know if i have to do something on my side.

Thanks

Do you mean prepaid?, If so, you need to ask telkom to change that to a open voice line and activate the ADSL

Not prepaid, just a standard voice line like old. You use it you pay for what you use.

Hey BlackJack1301! If the "normal-old voice line" you're referring to here is post post paid and you're paying the monthly R189 fee, you'll be good to go! :0 No need to contact Telkom. If you sign up for a DSL Bundle with us, we'll convert the line for you.

Well in that case they just need to activate your ADSL port at the exchange :), but only telkom can do that , and you have to call them before switching to Afrihost.

Post Paid = We can convert line for DSL.
Pre Paid = Line needs to be switched to Post Paid by Telkom and then Afrihost can convert to DSL.

Perfect guys thank you for the info, think it is just the normal post paid 189 thing from the 80s :) So all good thanks.

How is it that Axxess offer a 3 month mobile data rollover on the same MTN network AH use but you guys don't? And on top of it AH owns Axxess.

We're big fans of Axxess and it's no secret that they're owned by Afrihost, but they're still a separate business entity with different goals in the end. :) We're always looking at surprising our clients with awesome new products, though, so keep watching this space!
