Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

I am experiencing problems to connect to Skype.

AH 20GB Capped package in Centurion. Other connectivity seems to be fine.

Is anybody else experiencing similar issues?

I would realy like to chat to my brother in London tonight.

Very strange... Are you using any specific DNS settings?

I have high latency to some game servers aswell... Battlefield 4 and Counter Strike. It seems switching networks (SAIX or IS) seems to solve the problem. No idea if the problem is at Afrihost's side or Whoever is hosting the servers.

Could you post a traceroute for me to take a look at?

DNS is set to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on the PC.

The router is setup to obtain from the WAN interface.

Basicly Skype is stuck on 'Signing in'. Been so since 18:30, so more than an hour. It was working fine over the weekend with these settings when I called somebody else.

Thanks for the info! :) Please switch your DNS back to "Obtain automatically from ISP" in order to benefit from the fastest access for services on our DSL network. Let me know if Skype runs any better.

Ok, that seems to have fixed it. Thanks

P2p, google play store updates and international speeds are all wonky.....again.

Switch to vox - all is fine. Nice and stable and running at full speed.

What's up now?

EDIT: Switch back to my AH account - wonkiness reigns supreme.

speeds and browsing are down the crapper again this evening with linux updates almost not working

There shouldn't be any issues at the moment.

Do you have a speedtest or traceroute I can have a look at?

Okay, so this morning i went to check my maximum available speed on my line:

Maximum speed available in your area 20Mbps (Copper)
Your Current Service speed 10 Mbps

How can I check how legit this is? I would love to upgrade if 20Mbps is available but is there a way to test for it? This is on the Clareinch Exchange.

This is my router stats currently:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10239 kbps 1023 kbps
Line Attenuation 22.5 db 15.0 db
Noise Margin 12.6 db 8.6 db

That's definitely a good sign! :)

Can you please PM me your DSL line number, let me check exactly what is available in your area.
