After 37 minutes only 65% downloaded and another 32 minutes left.

Hello 1996.

PM'ed AG last night - He went offline, PM'ed him again tonight (20:18) and he went offline...FML

Telkom rebranded itself, the ones dealing with the last mile (fiber and dsl) are now called OpenServe. Telkom is the ISP and the mobile provider. It's to help with a clear separation between them.

Ok I hope I get helped soon. Internet is still bad :( Think it's the line

Not looking good again.

The latency starts ON YOUR OWN NETWORK. For THREE MONTHS already now!!!

Just leave and find a better value for money ISP...

Oh wait...

As I've said numerous times... I'm waiting for my MetroEthernet to be installed. Your ****ty comment means nothing. As a paying customer, I have a right to receive the service I paid these idiots for.

If you bother to READ you will know, these issues are only in south and east regions... You guys up north are mos special, and receive preferential treatment over others. Just like capped users receives preferential treatment over uncapped users!

Did I strike a nerve?

TBH, they should be be fixing it, its been unresolved for months.

That's as big a oxymoron as I've ever heard. Exactly what AH has been spining for 2+ months now yes... At some stage, you EXPECT the "experts" to know what they are doing, and fix it yes... When? Oh I don't know. Perhaps after they migrated their network away from Neotel now, and what, goes to their FOURTH transit carrier?

It's been broken for ~1 year followed by "new network" and it being broken for 3 months, followed by 6-7 months of it working ok, followed by 3 months of it being broken.

Were you seeing only specific sites not loading or was it all of the sites you tried to access?

I'm experiencing issues as well. Sites across the board. Intermittent. MyBB amongst them.
Something is stuffed with the DNS.

@Afrihost - apologies if this has been asked and answered but in November you increased the requirements to retain the extended Free-Time data:

What must you do to keep Free-Time?
As long as you are on a month-to-month Capped DSL package of R99 or more you will automatically continue to get 18 hours of daily Free-Time in December.

Then recently you increased it again:
How can you keep Free-Time?
If you upgrade to a Capped data package of R299 or more per month you will keep getting 18 hours of daily Free-Time in January.

What's going to happen in January? Are the current threshold requirements here to stay or will you be increasing it again?

Exact same problem with mine, zero fix from isp.

latency definitely is looking a bit high.
Could you also post a ping test to bras.afrihost.com ,so that we can see if there is any congestion happening there which would then affect the rest of the routing.

I've sent this quite a few times. Genie ask to send by inbox too. Sent twice, no response.
Look back and you'll see the another afri rep saying he will look into it... Also no response after that.

Wont be to run the ping now, only after work. Though bras does seem to give a lower number. Whats does bras take us to?

Could you try change your DNS settings to obtain automatically, and see if the problem persists?
