Hi Sorry for the late reply was out on the road

Pc with Win7 32 bit
Results: WIFI

No idea about MTU and no optimisation (Dont know this stuff so well) Not in IT att all

Thanks for the response just interested in possible other reasons why latency increase and performance drops. been playing around with MTUs settings and frame sizes on a win 10 PC. Results were very revealing. Not suggesting that either could have a bearing on the performance you are getting ..

On win 10 Pro on my PC, changing the framing has a marked effect on performance. So does changing the MTU size.


I prefer to diagnose line issues via a direct connection whenever possible, because the Wi-Fi performance of a router coupled with interference can sometimes give one a complete wrong idea of where a problem is coming from ....

Okay thanks. Will have another look tonight.

The performance and latency was perfect for the last few months (no settings changed) and I have done tests back then also over the WIFI with perfect results.

All changed about 7 - 8 days ago with no changes made to anything.

Also make sure you have no other connected devices downloading in the background, is your windows updates disabled or active?
 
I send my trace last night and telkom was fine afrihost not
This is going on for 2 month know at the Capetown pop

Not aware of any general issues from our end, did you send in your traceroute to our Support team?
 
I was not the only one have trace problems last night
Your ticket system not have the function to at attachments my software export as jpe
is the same problem when the most Issus happen in the evening from 8 to 10 nobody is on the forum and open ticket you most answer them in the morning when no problems happen

Updates disabled. only one phone connected but nothing running on it.

You can always mail in an attachment, or upload to imgur or something.
If you have issues tonight please paste the content of a traceroute/ MTR - it may be easiest to do this via Command Prompt/ Terminal.

The times you've quoted are for phone support, our team is still available 24/7 for mail support.

Our Social team is also around until 8pm most nights, but if you have issues after that you can always post your results for us to check in the morning.

It is not the first time I posted in evening and at 3:00 in the morning I get a reply I open a ticket 16:55 I wait for answers before 22:00 when the problem disappear
 
So after an apparent Telkom "upgrade" in my area according to SMS,the first hop latency STILL PERSISTS after hours aka "congestion"

First hop latency? That usually indicates your local network... Mind posting a fresh traceroute?
 
Have a question, I'm on a 100 GB capped account with Afrihost plus so getting another 100 GB added on per month. Since not having ADSL for a while last month and also for over a week this month, I'm now sitting with 180 GB of data which I'm definatly not going to use up.
My question is what will roll over to next month, will the original 100 GB as well as the Afrihost plus data be rolling over to next month? If it is the case, then I'll definatly change my package for next month to get less data otherwise I'll eventually come to a point where I'll be losing data.
