NO INTERNET JOY:mad:

Issues like congestion can be extremely frustrating and can take a while to fix. I apologize for the poor experience here, Quad! :( But, I have to urge you to please tone down the severity of your posts. I'm sure this can't be nice for others to see.

Please PM me your account details and I'll do my best to assist you further, and follow up where I can. :)

How is this for Latency???

LAG out of this world..

Dialup and WISP with 10 WiFi Repeaters is better than this..

No issues for me, well apart from congestion still, but other than that, im okay during the day time

Since it's kind of quiet here I have a question just for interest sake.
What do people do online to burn 400, 600, 800 GB and even more per month? It's something I can't quite get my head around, I'm talking home users not businesses.
I stream +-6 hours Showmax per day, I stream +-3 hours Apple music per day, more over weekends. Then I also work from home so I'm basically on the computer all day, emails, social media, odd Youtube video here and there etc, uploads and downloads to the cloud and all those things as well, but yet my usage is between 100 and 150 GB per month. Yes I am the only internet user in the house so get that households with 3 - 4 users will burn more data, but then again those people are usually away from home for most of the day where I use the internet right through the day.
So what do you do, what do you download to rack up 500 GB and more per month?

Last month was my first full month at Afrihost, and I managed to clock in about 520GB, with about 120+GB of that being game downloads and updates. However, I can't see myself downloading that amount every month. With that being said, there certainly is enough stuff out there to download 500+GB each month if you really wanted to.

AH, why only offer a 6 MB business uncapped package, why not a stand alone 6 MB line and the other 2 uncapped bundles in 6 MB form?

Granted I'm not a gamer so don't know that side of the fence at all, I think the last games I playd was FIFA 2007, NFS Undergroud 2, GTA San Andreas etc, back in highschool.

I'm also experiencing very slow internet in the past weeks. Local speed is ok (19Mbps) but my international speed is floating between 2 and 4 Mbps. My latency (EU game servers) is peaking up to 450ms where 2 weeks ago it was stable 165-170ms. Youtube / Online TV is buffering on full HD and the torrents are running at 100-200kbps even after midnight ... I want my fast and stable internet connection back

Storing up for the winter hibernation! :D

What sort of account are you on with us? Which DSL line profile do you have at the moment?

Yo AfriGenie good to see you're here, any update on my line issue? also sent you a follow up PM yesterday.

We've actually had a 6Mbps Business Uncapped account for as long as I can remember... It's more of a question of demand I think. With DSL lines available in 1Mbps, 2Mbps, 4Mbps, 8Mbps, 10Mbps, 20Mbps, and 40Mbps there aren't many people asking for a 6Mbps Uncapped account.

Torrents;)

Ah! Let me see if I can dig up an update.

Got a update for you, restarted my router a few minuts ago and now getting this
Download Speed: 4760 kbps (595 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 614 kbps (76.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 54 ms
Jitter: 1 ms
‎6‎/‎2‎/‎2016‎ ‎7‎:‎22‎:‎40‎ ‎PM

First time I'm getting speeds over 4 MB and pretty in line with what a line syncing at 5 MB will get. Now the next step, why is my line only syncing at 5 MB and not at the 8 MB I'm paying for? As mentioned to you via PM earlier, it has been syncing at 8 for around a week, then it whent down to 7 and last Friday down to 5.6 where it currently is.
ASSIA?

ASSIA?

Definitely a sign that ASSIA is stabilising things. Once it does it's next pass and sees that the line's stabilised it'll bump you back up to your line profile.

Thing is I read it does a pass or checks or refreshes whatever every 24 hours, as mentioned my line have been on 5.6 just over a week now, before that on 7 for a week and before that on 8 for a week. How long should this take?

If ASSIA deems the line to still be unstable it won't bump it up, let's give it some time after AfriGenie's changes :)
