And again after leaving nerotel

Hi Guys, I have been having troubles watching Twitch as of late. I have a 2mb adsl line and watching on medium quality has been fine. Now the buffer cannot keep up with low quality. I just switched to another isp to test and on medium it's fine.
Currently on a 100GB capped package.

100gb package and having issues myself, actually been having issues for a month now,it comes and goes. Right now i'm getting pings of over 500ms all over my trace route. Is CPT having problems?

Morning GTtronics. :) Which DNS servers are you currently using?

Best would be to post some test results here for us to take a look at and see where your trouble is coming in. :)

And the trend confirmed again early this morning. With surprises beyond the exchange though.

Issues early on in your trace could certainly affect later hops. That being said, please PM me with your username and we can run through some troubleshooting together. :)

I logged a fault with Telkom last week to come and fix the problem at the exchange - I never even got a FAULT LOG REF No over the phone or by SMS.

Maybe their strike is affecting service delivery also?

Resetting ports from your end on the user connection - doesn't help - I've been there a few times with AH support, doing the same with Telkom doesn't help either. Switching off the router for the expected 20 minutes (the latest thing) doesn't do anything either.

You keep on saying this...why?

Issues early on in your trace could certainly affect later hops.

Have a look at the hops further down between IPs - it may affect the average roundtrip yes - but it does not affect the hops between IPs downstream per hop.

Do we manage your line? I can't promise any resolution regarding exchange congestion, but I can definitely do my best to investigate. :)

Anyone know of where I can buy prepaid DSL CAP voucher (not 3G ) for internet access other than Telkom, Axxess and Afrihost?

I want to test a completely different backbone and see if that makes any difference from these ISPs...

I don't see an MWEB guest account to test.

Definitely indicative of congestion. :(

Thanks for the offer - no Telkom does - and they have normally been good at fixing problems - but they are on strike - and even if AH "manages" the line - you actually cannot do without Telkom (and their subsidiaries and contractors) to fix the problem. You can just nag them on my behalf...I know. ;)

Thanks for offering though...this is just a mess.

Any hop above 200ms is FUBAR DSL service delivery.

http://gridhost.co.za/affordable-internet
https://www.webafrica.co.za/home/adsl/

Both 1Gb is free. Both on IS backbone. I prefer the gridhost one as it is completely unshaped.

Keep on logging those faults and keep the proof incase they ever wanted to charge you unnecessary call out fee and to get credit notes for service interruption from billing.

I was able to get partial credit for exchange congestion like 2 years back when my exchange was congested.
