Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

Just some postitive feedback to start the week: my youtube experience has been awesome this weekend. Only problem is I'm struggling to use up my cap because of the Free-time :-)

Disclaimer: I do receive Free-time data from Afrihost (like every other Afrihost subscriber :-) )

That's awesome to hear! :D It's a nice problem to have! ;)

Data allocation was incorrect at the start of this month. Afriman said it could happen again.

I don't think you need to be worried about that happening again. :) If it does, we can quickly correct it from our side.

Stats seem fine but Line still seems slow.. :wtf:

Had one hiccup with Youtube buffering on Saturday but rest of the time Showmax streaming was perfect.

Well my P2P Streams dropped 2 min before the start of the F1 race so something was done to P2P.
Prior to that I had 25 peers and was streaming at 200KBs.
After it dropped It reported no peers available.
I switched to Telkom and instantly found >50 Peers and it started streaming at over 1MBs i.e. 5 times faster than afrihost.
I will be sticking with Telkom for now.

:(

That's not cool! Which streaming service were you using for the F1?

Are you using our DNS?

Just to check with you, are you on Capped or Uncapped at the moment?

Good luck bro - I've shown them that P2P takes a back seat during high peak times - they say our unshaped capped accounts might not be on the right profile if there is shaping (how convenient), but I'm not going to waste my time doing tests and finding out that is not the case, I don't have the energy.

Did you test any other streaming services maybe? I was running Twitch and Youtube without any buffering yesterday.

When you lose the F1 Feed during the formation lap your first thought is not to run tests.
In fact my thoughts would have rivaled Vettel's outburst at the end of the race.

At least Vettel got the Third-place... :erm:

Once we've restored the South to normal, would you mind if we did a bit of troubleshooting?

At least Vettel got the Third-place... :erm:
No he didn't:
"The stewards, after talking to both drivers and viewing various video evidence they handed Vettel a 10s time penalty deeming that he had made an "abnormal change of direction" that was "potentially dangerous".

So Vettel drops to 5th and Ricciardo has third.

And sure, I am happy to do some troubleshooting but I don't think it will show anything so long after the incident, especially as switching accounts fixed the problem implying it wasn't a local issue.

Whoops... When I checked the results this morning Vettel was still third... I'm still curious why Hamilton was never penalized for skipping the corners at the start of the race.

We'll need to try replicate the issue for sure.

The Stewards generally ignore incidents, that are not blatantly dangerous, for the first two laps. This is due to the chaotic start conditions. Once a true pecking order is established they start penalising.

Well we cant replicate a live feed......

Does AceStreams have any other live feeds running at the moment?

I'm in Southern Suburbs, CPT. Internet very slow and ping bad on local servers. Is this due to the issue?

:(

I'm afraid so... The current issue in the South will be affecting all services in the region.
