I might be blind and missed it, but what's happening to the 18H Free Time come January?

Free-Time is continuing for data packages of R299 and higher. Data packages under R299 will receive zero-rated after hours data between 00:00 and 06:00.

I did... and got the following (nonsense) reply:

Note: I have no wifi, so nobody outside could be using my connection.

I think it would be best continuing chatting with our Abuse Team to resolve the issue. Please feel free to give me the ticket reference number and I'll follow up with them from my side.

I already replied to him on this . You late :D soon you guys will retire early lol

Wait so Amazon is silently DRMing their content...?

Technically afrihost said "Amazon adds tracking software to all of the media files". I'm not sure how you can add "software" to "media files"

This is the kind of response I expect from openweb... not afrihost...

I will let you know tomorrow if I receive no reply from abuse.

If you need to reset your router/connection constantly, that would usually point more to the line or router than the ISP network.

We should definitely do some more troubleshooting on this :(
Good point. Planning to test a trial account to see if it's a line issue.

This hour of the morning, connection is fast and seamless at least.

To be honest it's likely just Amazon scraping IPs in a torrent swarm, like many, many companies have been doing for years.

Odd that Afrihost is now forwarding these notices to clients, no other ISP (consumer internet) has started to my knowledge.

To my knowledge Amazon have forwarded notices to other ISP's as well. :)

Amazon streaming was so bad last night, I eventually gave up. Have logged ticket, CZN-480-86086.

Switched to youtube and it was flawless. 8mb line, capped acc. It's like it does not get the necessary priority.

Kindly share which? It seem Afrihost is forwarding them to keep Afrihost's IP ranges on some sort of clean list?

That sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. :) I think we've made it clear that we're forwarding on notices that we got directly from Amazon. Amazon have sent the same notices to other ISPs as well.

Exactly... The afrihost tech who told me "Amazon adds tracking software to all of the media files" needs to go for training.

I think that's an unfair comment. The bottom line is that Amazon is monitoring piracy on their network and are informing ISPs of suspicious activity.

Thanks for logging it. I'll make sure our NOC Team takes a look at your ticket.

Why cant we all just have static ip's :) that would solve all the Amazon issues instead of dynamic ones where the incorrect individual might get called out by Amazon

It might be unfair, but what was said was technically inaccurate ;)
