I managed to get hold of Telkom, and they are still waiting for a Tech to be available to be dispatched to your premises, but it looks like it is a wider problem in the area that is not just affecting your line.

A wider area problem that's been going on for a month? Wtf?

Thanks AfriGenie. I am so sick of their excuses. Everytime I have phoned in they have said "it has been assigned to a technician yesterday".
I am getting so gatvol of them now.

Yeah I agree - WTF WTF WTF!!

Let me show you the problem:
uploadfromtaptalk1451392227875.jpguploadfromtaptalk1451392254947.jpg That was taken 3 weeks ago. The grass has now nearly grown completely over it.
EDIT: Telkom would know what the problem is if they bothered to actually come out and check. As stated in another thread - I do not believe this is theft. Reason: the wind had blown some telephone poles over (my line was still working) and a few days later the poles were put up again and my line was dead and the equipment left like that. Both my line and my neighbour's line are connected to that box and both our lines are dead.

Please see my edited post above in case it gives you any more info.

We'll definitely do our best to follow up with the team... Holding thumbs that this gets sorted out as soon as possible!

How is the latency of the capped AH accounts for gaming? These accounts are unshaped, yes?

I want good pings to Europe for Rainbow Six Siege please :)
I don't game, and my latency has been terrible, but thats more to congestion it seems.

But I've not heard any bad complaints from any users lately, with regards to anything on the AH network. Gaming should be prioritised along with streaming on a capped account.

Since you're in Cape Town, you should get about the same latency as I do.
I get between 165 and 180 for LoL Eu West, 170 to 200ms Eu East. Smite is about 190-200ms but I think that is more due to the server than distance (they've been under a lot of DDoS attacks recently, used to get 180ms). HotS I get about 190-200ms.
Don't have Rainbow Six Siege, so can't comment on that for you.

Afrihost's route for Cape Town is from here straight to London when going to Europe, so it is better than e.g. Mweb that has its breakout in Durban (not sure if they've changed it, it has been a while).

Hi AF, is it normal to get a credit note for my old package? is that just standard, or am i missing something. Upgarded to the 75GB one, but i got a credit note for the old one. Unless ive been debited R99, is it necessary to send a credit note, or again is this just standard protocol?

It is standard procedure. :)

You will be credited for the old package, and then when we submit the payment, the credit note is used towards that payment offsetting the old package cost.
