AG, so if i had to transfer my line to you guys. Whats the downtime going to be like? im not a fan of moving away from Telkom with regards to my line, but the data only uncapped portion just makes it way too expensive.

The process is about 14 days, with maybe a few hours of downtime.

They fixed that quite a few weeks ago already, I just decided to finally ask today

Hhmm. Drop me a PM with your line number.
Telkom don't allow manual sync changes to be pushed through any more though :(

what happens in 14 days? lol ie moving the line, and so on? when does the downtime happen? im starting to pull hair out now :D

The actual migration takes 14 days, it's just a paperwork change at the end of the day.
Downtime happens when Telkom moves the line into the holding pool for us to take.

what happens if you on an 8meg line, and you choose a 4meg data package?

You can, but why would you want to do that?
You'd be paying for an 8Mbps line, but only able to achieve 4Mbps.

On a related note, having a line that exceeds your uncapped speed limit can be a good thing. I used to get 6.8Mbps on my 8Mbps uncapped package with the line syncing at its max speed of 8Mbps. When it later became possible to sync at 10Mbps my speed increased to 7.8Mbps.

Running a higher line sync and a lower rate limited account should theoretically "bypass" the DSL overheads, so a 4Mbps Uncapped account on an 8Mbps line will probably before a little better than a 4Mbps Uncapped account on a 4Mbps line.

I'm going to give this a try and see what happens :) if it doesn't work I'll just cancel and go back to a capped solution.

whats the date one has to cancel as to not be billed for the next month? I cancelled now, as i want to test the Axxess Home Premium uncapped account for a month. However, i see AH will bill me for April. Thought it was the 23rd/24th of the month?

okay this was from AG, but then why are they going to bill me for the month April? i hope thats just a mistake.
You need to cancel before the 25th of the month, the 24th to be safe, in order for it to take affect at the end of this month.
Hope this helps :)
When I rebooted the router a few minutes ago I saw that it had uptime of over 19 days. Glad to know the days of needing to reboot every 48 hours are gone.

Last I heard, which wasn't long ago, the cut-off date was the 23rd.

Maybe they need a human to verify the cancellation request before that date and not only have the request sent from the Clientzone?

Before the 25th.
To be safe, I'd do it today.

EDIT: Looks like we've updated this to before the 23rd. The cancellation will still be affective today, it only mentions April due to the roll-over data.

You could also have placed your account on hold and resume it when you want. :)
