Account type: Business Uncapped
Times tested:18:31 onwards
Protocols tested: Usenet
Slow protocols: Usenet running at 40KB/s
Working protocols: Anything that normal downloads use, except from GrabitJeeves.com - Currrent speed from that site running at 70-100 KB/S
Line speed on: 6Mbps

Are you using our news server? My downloads are cracking along at 1MB/s.

yip, as you can see I am not the only one with this issue, so it has to be Afrihost.

Testing with the below pasted torrent - same results for me.
Line speed on Usenet, line speed on torrents.

Tested in CPT, Wynberg using a 10Mbps line and 10Mbps Business account.
Have you tested another ISP to see if the speeds are replicated there?

I can test with web Africa, issue is the torrent is larger than my 1GB free allocation, so I prefer to keep this as a backup if you guys go offline. I don't use usenet.

Tried the linuxmint iso, downloads at 143KB/s and slower.



Something else, over the past weekend we had odd disconnects. Connection would drop and then reconnect.

Strange - Lara's test seem to show good results here.
Grab a 1GB free account from us to see if the throughput values are the same.

For testing purposes though, it would be useful to setup a Usenet instance to see how this compares to your torrents.

Also, trying switching from the Afrigreen account you're using now to your @afrihost.co.za account.
