So Telkom phoned me this morning and the lady says "Oh i can see there is a lot of noise on your line"....so if they had "seen" that a week ago I could have saved so much time that I wasted on "diagnosis"....grrrr

Huh... :(

Did Telkom provide you with any further feedback?

Same for the last two nights. Went to a friends and it works. (was going to write about this, thanks to Rickster for reminding me)
Once connected to peers it's fine (it kept going when I came back) but if it's not done so yet it's dead in the water.

If you have a VPN for me to test it out on, I can compare.

Did you see zero-throughput for the entire evening?

Are you able to test your P2P speeds now?

i dont know what these guys are doing wrong AfriGenie, but im going strong with my torrents at 1.4mb/s(if thats correct) on the download  :D

I Hope telkom "accidentally" disables your ADSL and enable's your voice :D..

:D lol, knowing them, its bound to happen.. But no voice with a DSL connection and hey, i have naked Adsl finally lol

But i cant remember when i had a decent stable connection with Telkom, and funnily its been better since the telephone line went down

lol, ja maybe when they enable the voice you'd be singing a different tune, so enjoy your speed while it lasts LMFAO :P...lets just hope your line does not suddenly drop and when you call them ,they realize you have no dialing tone:whistle:..

my account is no longer linked on the Telkom portal when i log in... has anybody experienced this? its just gone, and asking me to link it again

trying to link it again, and getting an invalid ID/BAN/SERVICE number

maybe thats why you dont hear a dialling tone m8 :wtf:....I say call telkom to find out or you wil k@k yourself if they send a bill for a service you never received :D

So Afrihost any idea why we have these odd drops at 19:00 almost every night on P2P downloads?

Not seeing any problems from our end that can cause this, to nail and potential issue down we'll need to run some consolidated tests.

But as others have said when the speed drops occur normal download as fine, its P2P related, and its not only me seeing this.

We need more info, and the same test results from everyone in order to take action here though. There are no general issues with P2P from our end. We probably can start looking at P2P, downloads and performance in general, but it'll honestly take months if we don't know what we're looking for.

Please complete the requested tests if you're still having issues this evening.

Well since this is a feedback thread. I'd like to say, Afrihost is probably one of the best ISP's I have been with. Miles ahead of MWEB that I was with before, I can actually stream YouTube videos now, and at 1080p nogal.

Very happy!

Great to hear you're having an awesome experience :D

Going off this info, I assume torrents/ Usenet services are slow?

P2P Downloads slowing to a crawl again. Including site like GrabitJeeves

Sorry to hear :(
Could you complete these tests so I can get a better idea of what's going on?
