Same for the last two nights. Went to a friends and it works. (was going to write about this, thanks to Rickster for reminding me)
Once connected to peers it's fine (it kept going when I came back) but if it's not done so yet it's dead in the water.

If you have a VPN for me to test it out on, I can compare.

Everything died just now. Had to use Google DNS to get web connectivity but torrents are still dead.

I'm permanently on Google DNS. Torrents are still on 0kB/s connecting to peers, I rebooted the router. Have also tried out the other two desktops, my phone and iPad (JB tweak).
Everything else is perfectly fine, except for Smite, it uses p2p. Haven't done any gaming though, too many projects to hand in recently and haven't listened to feedback from family yet.

Amazing I have the same, and I mentioned this on these forums, never got addressed. But it happens almost every night, so Afrihost is doing something.
 
So Telkom phoned me this morning and the lady says "Oh i can see there is a lot of noise on your line"....so if they had "seen" that a week ago I could have saved so much time that I wasted on "diagnosis"....grrrr
