I don't think we believe that you are over-reacting in terms of being angry about not getting the service or performance you expect, but the main focus of being on these forums is to try to keep it constructive so that we can fix problems. I think making assumptions about how competent the technical people are or what their motives are just creates an endless cycle of speculation and debate. I absolutely support everyone's right to get upset when things don't go their way, but keeping a cool head and working with the reps here is the best way to get things back on track.

In terms of the other side of the fence, we all leave our day jobs and go home to municipalities that over bill us, supermarkets that offer terrible service or holding on the phone for consultants - I don't think anyone lives in an ivory tower. But I am grateful that being in the service industry and seeing how things can work, I have hope that we can all do better.

And there you go again...

We're not complaining about municipalities, or supermarkets, or even the man on the moon for that matter. We are complaining about AFRIHOST. Go and look in the mirror, long, and hard...

Afrihost can't change the world, and we're not asking you. We have however, been asking Afrihost for YEARS, to change. It's not happening, despite endless promise, after promise, after promise... Frankly, we're sick and tired of it.

I've noticed something. Little yesterday and today. It's nothing really major but on Facebook, twitter images don't always load.

And also noticed getting ERR Timed out messages on random websites. Site works after being refreshed but initially get the ERR error message.

+1.
Facebook doesn't always load properly. Think you mentioned this earlier in the thread though.

I have never lost my cool on these forums, I might have been firm etc. I am fully aware that service levels in South Africa are appalling, but I would aspect better from Afrihost. The issue is I need my adsl to do my job, I can order my groceries online and they get deliver, never contact my municipality as they seem to do the little I expect of them.

To sum it up, your outages affect my ability to earn a living, the other services you mention don't.

As mentioned last night, some teething issues are around - this is one of them.
The new network has been setup with long term goals in mind that we're working towards. Once the initial teething issues are sorted out (remember, the new network is less than 10 days old) it'll be smooth sailing.

But we pay the full price

We've given back to our clients in the past, this should be no different.
I believe we've discussed this before - the decision is with Management, I'm confident they'll make a good decision.

I would comment, but its like no matter what we say there is always a reason for issues. @kohlhtor, many of us have been asking this very questions, nothing happens unless you are on capped.

I don't think we're here to justify issues. Any issues suck, this included.
But we never promised things to get super leet over night. Setting up a solid IPC takes time, any ISP will tell you that, as well as confirm that teething issues/ niggles are very real.

As I've said before, I doubt we'll be having this conversation once everything is ironed out.

To be honest I would prefer never to post on these forums, and have things just working :) and have a good story to tell

Not sure how to read these traceroutes but not sure if it points to an issue at the exchange or with Afrihost?

Routing issues should be mostly fixed up. Are the port resets that I'm running for you helping at all?
Also, what happens if you use your backup ISP account for a sustained amount of time?

Yeah the port resets work perfectly. Soon as you do a port reset then things seem to run perfectly well.

Haven't noticed any issues with the backup account when running it. Minor fluctuations at times but definitely nothing like the issues I've been having with my Afrihost account.

Would you mind testing your backup account for the rest of the day? Just want to see if you see similar throughput degradation throughout the day.

Sure will do.

Should I post traceroutes at the end of the day too?
