Would you be keen to try a new video? Something that's been uploaded within the hour, or not watched by you.
Not sure how ntop works on Windows, but I'd be interested in seeing what source you'll pulling content from,

What does this show you?
http://redirector.c.youtube.com/report_mapping

And what DNS are you using?

Redirector: Interestingly was routing through CPT last week. Now..
Code:
196.216.238.180 => jnb01s05 (196.216.238.0/24)

DNS: 169.1.2.2,169.1.2.1

Newly uploaded video: Started at 5mbps then 30 to 40s in speeds moved steadily upward to 17mbps. Paused. Dropped back down to 5mbps. Repeat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z10F0Nw3tq0

Things have been great for past couple of days and now suddenly things have slowed dramatically:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 1836 kbps (229.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 408 kbps (51 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 46 ms
‎2015‎/‎10‎/‎30‎ ‎05‎:‎55‎:‎37‎ ‎PM

I am in Cape Town area on 10Mbps ADSL with 50+50 capped account. Hope this is not the usual month end jam when everyone is trying to use up those last few Gigs that they have paid for! I mean AH would never put the brakes on now would they?

We definitely wouldn't, and with the capacity of the new network, things should be running quite well. We're busy working hard to iron out the last few kinks and to make sure that the consistency on the connection improves.

Nope, those are definitely the correct DNS servers. :)

Why the reset?

Reset, will test now

:::EDIT:::

Seems like they are just reversed now... .2 primary and .1 secondary

Twitch on High is still buffering frequently but at least it is mostly usable

Anyone experience Google search problems?

Every time I try to search, I get a blank page, then have to "go back" and paste the search again, then get my results. This is happening on 5 different devices on my home network (8.1 Desktop / Win7 laptop / iPad / iPhone5)... Tested on 4 other ISP accounts, and they all work fine and Google searches are instant... so, definitely AH issue.

This is similar to sending mail fault from Thunderbird - still have to send email at least twice before it takes (smtp error that server not responding, as soon as I hit SEND). Issue is also only on AH.

Yes, but had the same issues at a friends house (MWEB), Uni (whatever the universities are on), CellC, Vodacom and WebAfrica.

My last few hours on Afrihost, and I must say the network seems to be doing very well. 7.92Mbps on an 8Mbps connection is excellent.

And Youtube streaming 1080p no problem.

Very strange... I tested with my MWEB / VOX / TELKOM / WA / CW / AXXESS and all of them work perfectly... it's just AH, and it happens on every single search and on every single deveice, even my Android phone :(

Appears there are routing issues in the country that may be location specific (or only in Cape Town).

Only happens on PC for me, but I don't really use my phone for Google Searches.

Same here... tried all the other devices just to make sure that it wasn't my desktop.
In which area are you, and which area was your friend's house where this occurred? Anywhere near Milnerton / TView / Sunningdale ?
