How does your YouTube stats show your full speed? :wtf: Mine sits at 2500kbps but yet my line is being fully used at 3600kbps.

This is what it looks like when I start a new video. It immediately goes to maximum speed. You could try the link and see if yours does too.

Hmmm. Mine caps at 2506kbps but yet my tool shows 3600kbps. The difference I notice, is yours is mp4 whereas mine is webm. What browser are you using?

Hmmm. Mine caps at 2506kbps but yet my tool shows 3600kbps. Why difference I notice in yours is an mp4 whereas mine is webm. What browser are you using?

AFAIK codecs and encoding can differ on throughput numbers.

Yeah this is what I was wondering. Now I'm getting 3265kbps in YouTube stats. So it must be stream bitrate and not the actual connection.

I'm noticing 1080p under Edge with MP4 buffers every few seconds yet Chrome with WebM is able to easily handle the same clip at 1080.

Imagine when H.265/HEVC starts getting used :wtf:

Where you're pulling content from may also see the numbers differ.

I've never seen higher than 2500kbps under YouTube stats on Chrome which is weird.

It seems DSTV streaming is not running so well. Could only get 1.5 Mbps on my 8Mb line
Speed tests, tracert and YouTube fine though.

Not 100% sure on the requirements for their streaming, are you seeing buffering?
