Can you confirm the site you're trying to access please?
500ms to any destination is massively high though, no matter where the site is.

Again, I am not worried about this ping as from a Vodacom 3G USB modem, but at least it connects, which is not happening from my AfriHost ADSL connection. It is our radio repeater server.

I am not at home now i will see tonight again but also when you where testing afrigreen i used that username and password for a few days then when back to my afrihost account as there was no apple connectivity on the afrigreen network that was in the begening of the afrigreen testing.

I'm able to browse the store on OSX, so seems OK.
Looking forward to your tests a bit later :)

+1

The server is in JHB. I normally see 500ms on 3G - particularly Vodacom.

Ah I see, thanks for confirming :)
Can you let me know what site you're trying to access please?

Please have a look at Armored Warfare again. Getting packet loss. No I can't traceroute as I have since found out those IP's were login servers. It's not consistent but occasional. Like every few minutes.

We're running through a bunch of tests/ tweaks this morning - should be fixed up soon if this was working before.

FYI, this app doesn't run for me...on running the exe, a window flashes up briefly and then disappears. Then nothing.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Running "As Administrator" does not help either.

That's weird - which version of Windows version are you running?

Ok, downloaded it again and now it works. Must have been some download gremlins :)

Thanks AfriGuy, We are back again :-)

Looking much better :)

My service has actually got worse

Seems to have got better, but in all honesty, the amount of test results I have posted on these forums, via PMs, emails to Critical Care, never seem to help. Its like a lucky dip, one day it works, then not, then we rant on the forums, get told we are over reacting, asked to test, post results, ask my no one has responded, rant again, get told we have exhausted all channels of support.

I think its time of Afrihost to sit on the other side of the fence, we are not angry at the reps on this site, we are angry at the company, and the promises from top management, ceo, and then we still seem to be back where we were year's ago.

I don't think we believe that you are over-reacting in terms of being angry about not getting the service or performance you expect, but the main focus of being on these forums is to try to keep it constructive so that we can fix problems. I think making assumptions about how competent the technical people are or what their motives are just creates an endless cycle of speculation and debate. I absolutely support everyone's right to get upset when things don't go their way, but keeping a cool head and working with the reps here is the best way to get things back on track.

In terms of the other side of the fence, we all leave our day jobs and go home to municipalities that over bill us, supermarkets that offer terrible service or holding on the phone for consultants - I don't think anyone lives in an ivory tower. But I am grateful that being in the service industry and seeing how things can work, I have hope that we can all do better.

I've noticed something. Little yesterday and today. It's nothing really major but on Facebook, twitter images don't always load.

And also noticed getting ERR Timed out messages on random websites. Site works after being refreshed but initially get the ERR error message.
