My line has decreased from 20476kbps to 64kbps after using the Fix My Line feature. It has also changed the modulation from G992.5 to G992.1 (changed from ADSL2+ to ADSL) Please will you fix this Afrihost, my internet is so horribly slow.

:(
Please PM me your line number so I can get this checked out.

http download speeds have just dropped all of a sudden. Same download was going at around 700kbps and has now dropped to 100kbps.

In South of JHB.

Speed tests looking fine too. Was going fine and I went to make some tea and come back and all of a sudden download speeds dropped so much.

That's odd.
Are you seeing the same results on various NZBs?

Seems same with anything I download. Even tried downloading youtube video and still slow download speeds.

The downloads aren't that important so not imperative that I need them now but still it's major decrease in speed.

Mind posting some results here, as well as a speedtest so I can get a better idea on what's going on?

Speed test seems fine for most part. Latency is high though.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 5915 kbps (739.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 852 kbps (106.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 22 ms

Looks good there.
Can you share something you're downloading so I can run some tests?

This is good and bad ... in other words: weirdomatic. :erm: That I get now steadily over 9.xx Mbps download speed on my local tests is great BUT Telkom told me years ago my rusty old copper line can never sync faster than 8 Mbps. Also why did my usual local ping of 9 - 10 ms go up to almost 30? That's not groovy, AH, not good at all. So what happened here? I'd happily trade some speed for faster latency.

20-30ms isn't bad at all for local latency :) What DNS servers are you using?
Also, if your line profile is 10Mbps is can fluctuate depending on what's happening in the area. Maybe they've replaced those old rusty cables ;)

Drop me a PM with your line number and I'll see if I can find anything.

Telkom introduced new line management tools which could be the reason for the higher latency.
