My line is dead. My internet light on my modem is not on. So not an Afrihost issue, possibly Telkom again. Urgh
I think mine is definitely Afri-related, but will wait for one of the peeps to respond. Ask them for a port reset to see if it works?

I'll try now with Telkom on Twitter. Because I think current TelkomZA on MyBB Might have blocked me lolI think mine is definitely Afri-related, but will wait for one of the peeps to respond. Ask them for a port reset to see if it works?
As I can't seem to get through to him. Tells me I need to contact forum administrator. So either he has blocked me, or his mail box is fullLOL....
I just got back in town, and intended to take out my new Afrihost data account first thing. I couldn't get my 1GB free AH account to work though. Using AH or Google DNS, and definitely the correct access details as per the Clientzone. Is Afrihost having major issues at the moment?
Tried my free Web Africa 1GB account and it connected instantly and provided working internet. Kinda nervous about signing up for a 400GB account with Afrihost now.
Any issues with AH tonight? When I ping www.google.co.za the latency ranges from 12ms to 150+ms.
Download speed seems to be unaffected.
Started about an hour ago.
No Afripeeps around?
We're back! Have a lot of catching up to do, though!![]()
Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed the break. New year, same problems...
Just kidding. Network has been sailing smoothly up till now.
Our network performs at it's best with Afrihost DNS.Try setting it to "Auto" and let me know how it runs for you.
LOL thanks for making me read that twice!Things seem to be looking good on our side.
Hope you had a good break too!
Better now but I get nervous when these things happen given my recent battle with exchange congestion and my line being dead for over a month. Will keep an eye over the next 24 - 48 hours. How are things looking for you this morning?
@AfriFella, I noticed that for the past month my "auto" DNS has been setting its self to 169.1.2.1 & 169.1.2.2
Only after checking the Afrihost website to see what the proper DNS is did I realise my one was wrong.
So I changed to the proper one two days ago, and oddly enough performance is the same, but Twitch and Youtube performance was much better on the auto DNS option.
Thoughts?
Hi
I lost my mobile SIM card. Can you please let me know how do I get a swim swap and what is the costs for replacement SIM.
Each region has it's own DNS Servers corresponding with local CDNs and caches, so 169.1.2.1 and 169.1.2.2 are the Cape Town DNS servers and caches, which will ensure that you receive the best possible performance. You are welcome to use 169.1.1.1 and 169.1.1.2, but you should see a slightly better experience on Automatic DNS.![]()
Oh I see. You should mention that on the configuration page on the website.
Will switch back now.![]()
We aren't able to complete sim swops, you will need to cancel the current package, and sign-up for a new one, allowing us to ship you a new sim card. We will credit you back for the unused data on your lost sim card.
