Afrihost New Network Feedback

Hey, for over 2 weeks now i have been having an issue with my Afrihost account. Im unable to get to certain websites (For example: bungie.net, twitch.tv, forums.ubi.com) it's an ongoing issue that Afrihost support seems to be dancing around with, ive delt with multiple people to try assist with this issue without any real results.

Most recent response from Afrihost had them suspect my local network being the problem despite everything working on an MWEB account.

In the past ive had a good response via the Mybb forums in regards to assistance so im here asking for exactly that, Could you possibly assist with this issue as we are heading into the third week with a head ache of an issue.

Thanks.

Hi :)

Not sure if you've covered this already, but what DNS servers are you using?

Hey, i have already covered this with support.

We tried the Google and Afrihost DNS settings which made the issue worse so im using automatic :)

That's an odd one. The detailed usage seems to show correctly, not sure if the data links specifically are reflecting additional dates.
PM me your DSL username and I'll check this out for you :)

No....I reported to you guys a while back that the midnight usage is showing as double the amount actually used. Clearly that info has been lost in the pipeline somewhere.

That's a very strange one. I assume all of your devices suffer from the same issue, not just one?

I don't have anything in my inbox, did you maybe chat to one of our other reps?
Happy to follow up on what happened.

Okay so what is the general speed a download should happen on an 8mbps line? I noticed last night my download was around 18 to 50kbps and this morning around 220kbps.

I was on 8Mbps for quite a while. Downloads generally peaked around 950KB/s. I was syncing at 10Mbps, so overheads were small.

Strange then. Speed test was fine though at around 6.7mbps, and my latency was around 20ms. So im a bit confused at why it was so low. I had both ethernet and wifi and the same.

Could it be a router,? I got supplied the Huawei Router by Telkom, so no idea if its any good.

Test another router if you can to rule out a router issue. Also test an account from another ISP. Test other devices on wireless and wired connections. You need to get the process of elimination going.

What download protocol were you using? Were you seeing this on HTTP downloads, or P2P such as Torrents?

Yeh ill have to do the tests, but dont care much for the other isp's right now as im happy with Afrihost. But will test with one of them anyway
