Not anymore. The new OpenServ holding pool system allows transfer directly from ISP to ISP and Telkom Retail is considered to be an ISP like any other and seperate from OpenServ (formerly Telkom Wholesale).

The line is "soft-suspended" while in the holding pool, but that should be a maximum of only a few hours if all goes according to plan (which it mostly does these days)

So what is the procedure these days? Customer contacts you guys, says wants to move to you, and you do the necessary?

Not entirely, if you are with Telkom, you have to fill out a form that moves the line into the holding pool. Other ISPs have their own process. We can only start doing stuff from our side once the line is in that holding pool.

You can do a future dated payment for any amount, which essentially prepays your account and puts in in credit against future billing until the credit is used up

Hey KinsZA! Sorry about the late reply! The issues on the South and East IPC have been resolved and you shouldn't be having any trouble... Are you currently experiencing anything strange?

Are you using any other DNS settings besides Afrihost DNS? Does your slow browsing reflect in a traceroute?

Can someone please tell me why my upload sync speed is only syncing at 2mb on my 40 mbps vdsl line. It was always syncing at 3mb...
