Why is my Upload Sync beening Half speed??

This is what I had for 2 days!!! Since my ADSL was DEAD for first 11 days of this month..
View attachment 355458

And this is what I am getting now!!! For no Reason.. Line was working Perfecty..

Does not help if I reboot my router...??

It looks like your sync has been dropped to a lower profile, so that would explain the lower upload rate. I was under the impression that all profiles now had 512kbps upload below 10Mbps, so it does seem a bit weird. If it's a line fault and the line is just performing poorly, that may be a more likely explanation :(

Is this acceptable packet loss?

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
Packets: Sent = 100, Received = 92, Lost = 8 (8% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 40ms, Maximum = 660ms, Average = 52ms

Any packet loss is not really acceptable but it depends on the destination and how they treat and prioritise ICMP and also what your TTL on these packets is. You've set it relatively low at 57ms, so anything longer than that will timeout. If the destination server gives ICMP low priority, it might also slow down the response, especially if it's receiving continuous pings from one source amongst other requests.

This Interleaved ASSIA thing is bull****!!!

Why does my Friend with the Same type of Account as me and also same router and showing very close the same connections STATS on router..

His Upload or Download sync never goes down!!!
But mind was clearly working for 2 day perfect and now they Limit my Upload sync to 256kbps..
and that cause also double latency on first hop after router..

We should do the necessary investigation first. ASSIA generally improves line stability, so this may not be ASSIA. If it is, then we'll see what can be done from there :(

LOL I officially surrender and accept that my happy streaming, downloading and gaming days are over. It's not afrihost, or telkom, tried different isp's, a million different speed tests and snr tests, hard booted my router, and despite everything checking out, I still live in the land of slow downloads and buffering video (no matter how low the quality). My line tests at 4mbps with good ping. It could be ASSIA, but I don't know. Fed up.

Everything is fixable. It may just require time (and perserverance). Hang in there :(

is anyone still getting packets dropping to international servers?
Twitch streaming (watching) is impossible and this was at 330am. (couldnt sleep)
Watching vids from Facebook on my phone to the wireless just is also impossible, dont know if thats a facebook issue or what. I battle sometimes with youtube as well!

i saw your post about packet loss, im having exactly the same type of loss, makes gaming next to impossible as i have a server that i join thats based in UK

Hope it gets sorted asap because it is better than it was on the weekend, but still hard to play

I wish someone would step forward and say what the problem is. It may not be afrihost, could be ASSIA or something else.

The only solution I think is to cancel any services with this company and move to a better one.

No ISP will be able to bypass ASSIA - Telkom have put a lot of time, effort and money into implementing the system country-wide.

AH, please can you help me?
I am trying to setup my @afrihost.co.za email that comes with my account but just can't seem to be getting it right.

What I am trying:

Incoming settings:
mail.afrihost.co.za
Port: 110

Ougoing settings:
smtp.afrihost.co.za
Port: 25

Also, can I set it up as an imap account?

So another discussion with technical at Telkom. They say that the exchange i am connected to is down, network failure. Ive been down since yesterday with voice and no sync, but according to them this exchange has just gone down sometime today. Could this be an issue that has been building for a while now?

Try these settings :)

POP3 Server: dslmail.afrihost.co.za OR mail.afrihost.co.za [port 110]
SMTP Server: smtp.afrihost.co.za [port 25]

I'm afraid IMAP isn't available on the DSL account mail addresses.
