It can definitely go quickly, we generally go with 14 days though as some process can take that long :(
Still though, the migration is a pretty seamless one for clients.
I'm not going to try to move my line to the holding pool. Too risky lol :D

Been there and well my phone line is still down more than a week later

Did you follow the instructions we sent you when adding your line to ClientZone though?
It really is a pretty painless process.

I did, but then whose responsibility does it become to deal with Telkom? I contacted them asking to move my line to the holding pool, but that's when all hell broke loose, and both voice and dsl got cut off. I'm still without a voice line, and they even processed a new order for me :?

Once the line's with us we take over the management of the DSL line.
I don't see an order on your account to move your line over though?

If I check your line for feasibility, it shows another operator is active which won't allow us to transfer the line over to us until it's been released by Telkom.
The process is to first add the line to ClientZone though - our system will create a recommendation from there.

Maybe I understood wrong, but my idea was to get Telkom to 1st move my line into the holding pool, then add it to clientzone. When it all went south with Telkom, I decided to just forget the idea, because I was 2 or 3 days without dsl and my voice is still down.

To be fair though, through that drama, I did manage to get a 25% discount applied to my account for the next 12 months for all the issues. So now I might save a few rands and up my data bundle with you guys.

I'm also somebody that would like to see you guys allow for eft payments in future. But it's not biggie, but would be good

Wait what?

Are Afrihost moving to New DNS servers?

Need to update my servers. Will the 169 DNS Servers be discontinued?

Are these the new ones?
129.232.196.39
129.232.196.40

Lol :D I'm just using the 8.8.8.8 ones, but not you as well?

You can do it that way, but that'll probably cause complications.
If you add the line to your account our system will review what exactly needs to be done and mail you the process from there.

We won't be offering EFT as a payment method, sorry :( Not sure if you saw my post detailing why?

Nothing permanent yet, our network team are running through some options.
There will be no performance difference :)

I think I might have seen it, ie accounts issues?

Here you go.

I think AfriMan may have sent that to you :)
I do share AfriMan's sentiments around which data link is used first though, if you topup then that topup data should be used before the monthly allocation does. Either way, the data is there for you to use.

We used to offer EFTs years ago but it didn't work out, and does involve a lot of backend admin from our end. Automated EFT systems could allow us to read the validity of the POP and have that amount allocated to your account, but previously we've seen a lot of late payments via EFT, or clients forgetting to use the correct ref#.

EFTs allow too much room for error and isn't an efficient payment method to fit into a fully automated billing system.

Since being given a Vox account by Critical Care for testing purposes I haven't had a single disconnect. Internet has been flying the whole day, with no usual turbulence starting around 4pm.

Please keep our Critical Care guys posted on this, the feedback needs to be consolidated so we can make and tweaks from there :)
Great to hear there's some progress though!

Just did. I'll be interested to know what the problem has been.
