Afrihost New Network Feedback

Thanks!

It just looks like the core network switches aren't responding to ICMP traffic, it doesn't look to be affecting the overall latency though. How is the in-game performance at the moment?

Forsaken World looks OK so far been in for around an hour or so - in game ping shows ~500 ms, and normally I get around 250 ms (but is playable). Will try GW2 later, although with packet loss, I usually experience 2-3 dc's in GW2 ..... normally when in an instance and just as the Boss is about to die dropping his loot ..... QQ).

I've updated you via PM, I just need a bit more info. Thanks! :)

Has there been any complaints of short disconnects or spikes ? Been getting very short disconnects and spikes for the last few weeks, the disconnects lasts for roughly 10 to 20 seconds but that causes a disconnect in online games (wow , age of empires). Skype/TS goes down as well. In an evening it may happen 1-3 times in the space of a few hours; last night, there was no issue.

Experience the same issue both on my desktop and laptop.
Yes. Exactly what I am having. P2p and Google play store updates suffering the worst. Thank you. AH, take note - not the only one.

Streaming has been subpar tonight, international traffic has been a bit slow.
Other than today it's been really great, had a couple of odd days with streaming end of last month too.
Keep up the good work :)

I dropped earlier than that. Probably around 10ish.

OOOOH you meant internet? :D No idea. Methinks normal people lala at that time.

Noticed something strange last night, first time this has happened. I was busy downloading the latest Linux distro at around 22:00 at almost my full line speed (1.8MB/s). When my connection dropped, but it was as if Afrihost deauthed my account for a few seconds before it came back up.

Reviewing the stats on my router I can see that it was indeed the Afrihost account that dropped and not the actual DSL line. What would cause this? IPC capacity?

Sorry to hear about the poor streaming performance here :(
Was the issue specifically with Twitch or across the board?

An authentication drop can happen for a number of reasons, won't have anything to do with capacity though.
Send me a PM with your line number and I can take a look at the cause :)

Telkom assigned a Technician to your fault earlier this morning, the moment the Tech is dispatched he'll give you a ring to let you know when he'll be popping by.

My connection was all good :)
Drop me a PM with your line number and I'll run through the logs on your account to see what the cause was.

I was in a dota match and I lost throughput and didnt lose sync, I reconnected to the game and I found 5 other people disconnect. One was on AH too.
