hi all

well i have recently started a debate with myself in who to have for my ISP

and i just cannot seem to come to a conclusion between AH or AXXESS

i have compared the 2 thoroughly .... between the packages offored for 2mb & 4mb UNCAPPED lines

and these prices are almost exactly the same pricing with a divvirent of like R10 ...

so i turn now to you all for advise and input

WHO WOULD YOU RECOMEND PLEASE !!!

thank you ALL
CameronH :) :D

I'd steer towards Axxess at the moment, Afrihost is having a lot of problems, some acknowledged and some not.

^This

I've had various accounts with axxess for years, for some reason they don't seem to experience the problems AH do. Also there's the added benefit of EFT payments.

Just keep in mind hey that Afrihost and Axxess are pretty much the same company.

i will never understand why companies do this ....

why not just run one company and provide one constant level of service ,

why run/own 2 companies and provide 2 diffirent levels of service ?

Axxess for sure.
Have clients using them with no serious issues to report.

All the clients using AH had multiple/ongoing problems that after submitting 100's of traceroutes/etc went unresolved.
Looking at the various threads, their network issues are still ongoing.

Axxess being voted isp of the year for a few years in a row makes me want to move towards them. Also I'm moving away from MWEB towards a capped ADSL 400GB account for a few months to get that unshaped bandwidth.

Axxess for sure.

LOL. Sounds a lot like MWEB. They unable to solve a simple issue when in fact they have no interaction with you unless you bother them a lot. I starting to accept that they will never sort out my issue and why must I fight with them when I can just move to a better ISP.

I was with Axxess last year. I had great service on the uncapped 4mb premium, but i left because i was shaped even at night so that didn't work out for me so i switched to afrihost the shaping went away, but like other people mentioned there were more problems like packet loss and latency issues youtube buffering etc..

So i jumped ship to Crystal web and is a happy chappy at the moment.

To answer your question I would say go with Axxess capped it has roll over for 3 months i think and you can not get shaped.

I have both, Axxess has 0 issues whilst Afrihost have some from time to time. Afrihost are working on improvements so all up to you, but always have a backup isp. Dont put all your eggs in 1 basket

You'll have to end up making your own decision either way. Personally I'm with Afrihost and I enjoy all their bundled offerings such as the month to month mobile offerings, Afrihost Plus. I find their portal very nice and user friendly.

Just sign up to both.. buy a small package like a 10 or 20GB one, and test. Dont test via a trial account. If you happy with the one, just cancel the other one and increase your data cap

Why not Vox. I have both Afrihost and Vox capped accounts. Needless to say I dont use the Shapihost account. Will be cancelling it soon actually. How can youtube buffer on your network!!! I want to have a spare account but thinking twice about Axxess just because of their association with Afrihost.

Axxess have also been having issues lately, slow downs from 19:00 to 22:00 each day, dstv catchup never works, speed tests show no issues though

Logged a ticket with them this morning. My speedtest results shows it is all over the place, but their ADSL checker shows no issue. Getting so bad at times that streaming services loses connection.

Having said that, I have been with Axxess for a few years now and they do resolve issues very quickly. I am on uncapped premium and it works well.
