What's up Afripeeps!

Afrifella here, I'm the new Afrihost MyBB rep here to rock the threads like the cool (but awkward) uncle at a family day.

I'm here to share knowledge, gain feedback and help out where I can - so lay it on me! :)

I hop not the creepy uncle you keep away from the small children:confused:

So, something strange...

Even though I have a "congested" exchange - I can stream Netflix without any issue. Granted I am streaming SD in stead of HD, but still no interruptions.

AG - 4mb capped line. Haven't done a speedtest in a while, because I get sad when I do.... :p

That is pretty strange. remember that congestion is not a constant state, it fluctuates according to what people are doing. There is definitely a trend of people being away on holiday, etc, at the moment, so maybe your exchange demand has eased up a little :)

Really not happy at all :(

Definitely not looking good at all. Are you getting similar results on both networks? Have you tried any other ISP network to compare?

Afrigreen and AH vanilla showing 0.5mb download speed on speedtest . Restarted router modem syncs at 10mbps

I didn't have an issue before switching. But according to the email from Afrihost, I can't switch back without sending a formal request??
Unfortunately I don't have another ISP to compare with.

For the moment both of your accounts will remain fully active and functional, allowing you to switch back and forth at any time for testing purposes.

Twitch performance is still not where it should be. I'm watching a past broadcast which has an average bitrate of 3000kbit. (Right-click > Video Playback Stats)
A 4mbit line should be able to stream it with no issue provided it actually gets it's full speed constantly.

This is not currently happening. Buffering. Buffering. Buffering.

For testing:

Seems international is borked :o

This is my feeling towards Afrihost ATM

Yes it looks fine - but why if I do it from my mobile phone app is it under 1.0 Mbps? Same WiFi connection. Sitting right next to the router and yesterday it was 8.6Mbps.

If you have an Android Device handy install Wifi Analyzer and have a look if any other networks, especially strong ones, are on the same channel as you.

If they are, that could explain your intermittent WiFi performance, change the channel on your router to one with no nearby signal.

I use that app frequently to optimize WiFi throughput on my clients networks in office parks, it works well.

Cheers
Chris

Just for testing purposes on our side, were you running anything else on your connection?

Are you seeing similar performance from other Twitch.tv content?
