Interesting observation... :wtf:
It could also be to do with your browsing history or cache. Do you find the same issue on other browsers? Say, Firefox, for example?
Edge has the same issue.

P2P shouldn't be an issue tonight to my knowledge... How strong are the files you are downloading?
Internet seems sluggish again. Seems to happen every night. The issue isn't maximum line throughput but more of a DNS-delay issue. When clicking on a bookmark for example, Chrome will sit showing a blank screen for a few seconds as if it's trying to resolve DNS and then when it finally does the line speed is used properly. This is evident when loading YouTube, clicking a bookmark for YouTube will sit and take a few second and then when it finally starts loading something, the line is used at full speed.
As said earlier it seems like a DNS taking it's sweet time to resolve. This happens on both Afrigreen DNS and Google's DNS which doesn't make sense. As said above, this only happens in the evening.

Happens with me too.Ran at almost full speed, then 18h00 speed dropped
Pretoria east, Equestria. So not sure if the issue comes from AH or the Telkom corps
I can confirm this in my tests ... there is definitely an initial delay
Edge has the same issue.
P2P is dead, browsing is sluggish. But YouTube runs at line speed once the video eventually opens.
Latency seems to be bouncing around a bit.

How much do we trust Edge yet, though?
Only kidding!I'm still not completely convinced this is DNS related, but I'll have a chat with our network engineers.
Have you tried with a different browser yet, too?
Sounds like it may be Telkom related...Our network is not THAT specific to region.
If it helps, I'm now getting "error connection reset". These issues always seem to happen at night. During the day it's completely fine. Very weird.
Internet started working after 23h00 last night. So take it that from 18h00 to 23h00 we should expect AfriHost shedding
I'm not saying it is DNS related. I'm trying to explain it as best as I can. It's like it was trying to find out what it had to load and was taking its time LIKE a delayed DNS or something. You can confirm this is DNS related if you switch out DNS for Google DNS, etc. I found I was getting this only in Chrome, but other browsers were fine, so maybe test with Firefox (usually very reliable) as well if you can.

But yeah lets see if this happens tonight, again.
